Sixes

Last week, I was tagged by CitizenX for a meme on six things about myself. The rules state: Link to the person who tagged you, Post the rules on the blog, Write six random things about yourself, Tag six people at the end of your post, Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog, Let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Okay, I have done a few like this in the past, but lucky for me (and you, dear readers), the well of my randomness may never run dry.

1. When I was younger, even just thinking about touching a dirty dish would make me gag. Nowadays, I have no compunction about rinsing off a dirty plate - with my bare hands - to put it in the dishwasher. (Yes, I have a scrub brush thing, but sometimes the hand is quicker and more efficient.)

2. I have issues about consuming calories in liquid form. I prefer to drink water at all times, except the occasional cup of coffee (wine, obviously, doesn't count). The way I see it is: if I save myself 140 calories by NOT drinking a Sprite, then a Baconator won't kill me (or maybe it will - just a little bit).

3. Along those same lines, I am a compulsive weigher. I even bought the fancy digital body fat analyzer scale because I weigh myself every day. I don't know why - it doesn't vary much.

4. I don't personally believe in divorce, but the Evil Twin and I each have one "loser" marriage under our belts. They were both huge mistakes.

5. I'm a tweezer junkie. It's not unusual for me to pluck my eyebrows two or three times a day. I don't over-tweeze, but it drives me crazy if I discover a random brow growing where it shouldn't. I take care of the offender with swift and painful justice.

6. All my life, I have been a night owl. At this point, I don't think that will ever change.

Okey-dokey. There you have it - six more tidbits of random weirdness in my life. I'm not going to tag anyone this time around, but I'll just leave it open to the universe and whoever would like to participate (hint: it's great blog material for those "I got nuttin'" days.)

Peace out, my homeskillets.

  1. I too am a night owl by nature, but forced to fight it because of my job. When I take a week vacation my whole waking sleeping schedule flip flops.

  2. And don't you also vacuum once a day?

Tell me how to get into the tweezing habit. My brows are so unruly that I just SHAVE the offenders away about once a week. TMI? Oopsie!

  3. Ron - I've just learned to adjust to the minimum sleep necessary.

Tiff - yep, I do vacuum every single day, but I already listed that as one of my quirks. Go to a salon and have the beautician shape your eyebrows. Once you see the lovely shape, you will want to keep it up. Oh, and buy GOOD tweezers (like tweezerman brand).

  5. I am a night owl by nature, but its hard to be up late, late and get up early as I do. Maybe I should consider not sleeping.

I get lots of calories from liquid sources. I love lemonade and I adore coffee.

  7. I'm with you on the compulsive weighing. I really should be better about tweezing, though. Every once in a while, I will look at my brows and say - "Good God, woman - grab a tweezer and get to work!" Its just something I forget to do.

  8. Be care ful about over-tweezing! I used to do that and now I have virtually none left! Old age (and some illnesses) take care of them.

  9. Momma - see? Miles away, but kindred spirits anyway.

Catscratch - I'm usually dragging ass by 6:30 pm, but force myself to get a second wind. :-)

lz - some of them are tough!

Gigi - I make it part of my morning routine and then later in the day, I'll rub my eyebrows backswards to feel for any trying to mutiny.

kenju - I'd be okay with none, but I really try to follow the line of the shape and get the "outsiders".

  11. I'm with you on the tweezers. I hate getting outside and discovering even one missed hair!

I try not to drink too many sweet things, but I often fail. Hence, I'm not so with you on #3. ;) I have been weighing occasionally since I started the latest health kick/diet.

  13. rosemary - we've got plenty of room (and not as much snow!).

Honeywine - I'm serious, I hate those stragglers too.

Inanna - not excessive, just "enough".

  14. LMAO at #4!!!!!!!

    Homeskillets??? Fucking priceless!!

I'm a night owl, too. I hate the fact that I have to "give up" and go to bed. I am like a kid when it comes to going to bed!

Thanks for not tagging me.. I don't know 6 people on here or, who haven't already done this list!

  15. I'm compulsive about tweezing, too....

But at this stage, it's that one rogue hair on my cheek.

It's also threatening to multiply and I can't have that.

URs were much more interesting than mine.
