Friday Secrets

Finally, Friday! Yay. Here are the secrets. None of them are mine and we also have a mystery pic! I still didn't receive the 2nd part of the 2 part secret. If I get it today, I will post it as an update, depending on what the sender would like me to do.

1. I slept with a black girl because my father was a racist asshole. I fell in love with her because she was the kindest, most caring person I have ever met.

2. I am having what can only be described as an affair online with a married woman. I have never met her in person (yet) but she gets more worked up than I can ever remember being before. Someday when we do meet it will be explosive. I'm even more worked up now knowing that she will read this on EvilTwinsWife's blog on Friday.

3. My neighbor across the hall from me in my apartment building came out this morning to get her newspaper wearing nothing but a t-shirt that didn't cover everything. She wasn't embarrassed and even small-talked with me a minute. Now I can't stop thinking about her red haired bush.

4. I was cyber sex-im'ing with a fellow blogger while at work, I was so turned on that I shut my office door, closed my blinds, and gave my self an orgasm.  The other blogger had to go off to a meeting.

5. I have had more one night stands than I have had real relationships.  They always make me feel dirty, but I think that one day it will turn into something more.

6. My girlfriend jerked me off into her cup of coffee and drank it. I can't drink coffee anymore.

7. I really don't think me and my boyfriend will last. I am not in love with him like I should be... he's an ass half the time,  is too hard on his kids, and is an alcoholic. But the sex is great and he treats me better than any other person I have ever been with and I am not ready to give that up yet. I just keep hoping he will change, although I know that won't happen.

8. My boyfriend and I have a great, fun filled sex life (did I mention GREAT??). We enjoy trying lots of things. This past weekend he bought some rope and tied me to our bed.  When the weekend was over I carefully tucked the rope under the bed, while leaving it tied to the posts, figuring it wasn't likely the kids would find it. Well...my kids' Dad watches them during the day in my house (bet you can tell where this is going). When I came home from work Monday afternoon, 3 of the 4 ropes were pulled out from under the bed and stretched across the floor for all the world to see.  Clearly it was quite obvious what the were there for, but to his credit, my ex did NOT mention them, did NOT look at me funny or anything. But I just bet he had a story to tell his girlfriend that night!!

9. An old friend of mine found some guy's Blackberry and while looking through the phone to determine who the owner was, he discovered that the guy looks at Gay Pr0n. The owner of the phone is in the military.  My friend seriously wanted to contact the military authorities and show them the phone so they could return it to the owner. Wouldn't that be funny?  I talked him out of it and told him to let the guy be.  I was so close to confessing to my friend that I am Bi, just to make a point, but I didn't.

Instead, I'm going to invite him to the gym so after we work out, we can shower together.  Idiot.

10. I spend more time than I ought to thinking about someone other than my spouse.  I want to do things with this person that would make a well seasoned hooker blush.

11. I used to like to go streaking when I was younger.  I loved to sit on the front porch as cars went by.  It was always a thrill to think that someone might have seen me.  I really wish I could do it again.  Or better yet, I would like to just find a nude beach or nude resort where I could go to walk around naked all the time, but I just don't know where.

On the Fly Today

It's time for Sissy's preschool round up  (registration day) and I also need to renew the registration on my van, so it's registrations all around. I don't think anything will take a particularly long time to accomplish, but you never know.

So, if I don't get a chance to visit blogs or comment here - just know that I'll be around when I get back home.

Also, I have received quite a few Friday Secrets, but if you want to contribute, you still have time: eviltwinswife@gmail.com. I received an anonymous secret last week that stated it was part 1 of 2 and I only received part one - so dear reader, if you see this - please double check that I get both parts. Part 1 ends about halfway through a word. Otherwise, I can just hold part one over until next Friday and see if part two materializes.

And, if anyone is moved to send a mystery pic or two, well, you know we're always up for that! :-)

If I can get the Evil Twin to man the camera later on, perhaps I can submit something more interesting than a cleavage shot. LOL.

Happy Thursday, hooligans!

Joys of Having a Tween

Oh, sure, Buddy cops an attitude every now and again. He's still prone to whining fits when he doesn't want to do something (clean his room, go to the store with me, etc.).

But a couple of weeks ago, I noticed a bump on his forehead. Upon closer inspection, it was a pimple! Right in the middle of his forehead between his eyebrows. That is what the Evil Twin and I refer to as "the mystic third eye".

Then, a day or two later, another one appeared under the first one. I asked him if he wanted me to buy him some face stuff and he said yes.

It's been a while since I purchased any Clearasil or any of that stuff, so I studied the myriad of "cures" available today. Wow! There are so many to pick from, some are reasonably priced and some are cha-ching! I guess it's sort of like all the anti-aging moisturizers. The companies know us gals will do anything to keep the wrinkles at bay, including paying big bucks for creams that may or may not work.

My skin is relatively blemish free, but once every few months, I'll get a pimple. Usually in the crease of my nose, where they are not only hard to get to, but also hurt like a demon. Lovely.

I would never buy a product just for an occasional break out, but since Buddy is headed towards Zit City, I can use whatever he's using.

So, you see, there are some perks to having a sullen teen (almost) around the house!

Now I just need to talk the little shit into letting me pop those babies!

Post 860

I spoke to the vice superintendent of the schools yesterday and apparently, the schools do not automatically call parents for what could be (and was) a hoax. She explained the protocol, which made sense to me. So, the kids who went home obviously used their own cell phones to call home. Buddy just wasn't hip enough to realize that.

So, I feel better about that.

However, these days, for whatever reason(s), I've been feeling blah. I'm sick of the weather. I'm sick of the routine (yes, even I get bored with my routine every so often). The Evil Twin's office is no longer offering the health insurance we've had since before Buddy was born, so I had the daunting task of choosing a new plan. When it came right down to it, I didn't really have a choice. I'm sick of worrying if this new plan will cover all our doctors and medications. I've spent the last 12+ years fighting tooth and nail for every benefit we were promised and I have a sinking feeling I will be doing the same for all of eternity. :::Sigh:::

I suppose once I can get out of bed and NOT be freezing, I'll perk up a bit. Remember, I'm a Southern gal - I need the sun on my face.

I keep the blinds open and hope for the best...

Off to do my chores!

Falling Apart

So, I turn 42 and things seem to be going downhill already. I'm sure I have sciatica. I woke up this morning feeling fine, then almost passed out from a massive cramp - let's just say PMS and leave it at that. Must. Get. Hysterectomy. LOL.

Anyway, that's why my post here is a little late. I finally got in the shower and feel a lot better.

On Friday, we had some excitement here in the little burg we call home. The Evil Twin drops Buddy off at school and I pick him up. Friday was supposed to be an in-service day (or whatever - where the kids have the day off), but in order to make up a snow day, they had school.

I went to pick up Buddy and noticed that the parking lot and the parents in the pick up line seemed lighter than normal. I thought, "Well, maybe some parents didn't know it was a school day after all." And kinda shrugged it off.

Then Buddy comes out and asked me why I hadn't picked him up earlier....Why would I? Well, there had been a bomb threat in the morning. The county has a call system where they can alert parents to situations. Only I didn't get a call. Not on my cell phone, not on my home phone (they have both numbers) and I also did not get an email.

Apparently, half the school had been signed out early. They had kept the children huddled in the gym while the police and bomb sniffing dogs went through the school. There was no evidence of an actual bomb, but I asked why they remained inside the school? Buddy said because if they went out (in the past), there was too much horseplay and kids had broken bones, etc.

Well, I'd rather my kid or one other break an arm than be bombed to death.

I told him I had not received any notification and if I had, I would have picked him up. I asked him why he didn't call me on his cell - he said he didn't have time, but his best friend at school DID have time to use Buddy's cell to call HIS parents! That's my Buddy. Doesn't always think things through...

Then I asked if the note was passed around to all the teachers to try to identify handwriting? Buddy said there was no note, it had been written in marker on the wall of the boys' locker room and the female teachers couldn't go in there. I said that I was most certain that ALL teachers would be allowed in for something like this and if not, why not take a daggone picture of it and send it around. Helloooo? It's not like digital cameras or cell phone cameras are hard to find these days.

Now, I don't know all the details, so maybe they did make an effort to identify the handwriting. Buddy is not always the most accurate reporter.

I still don't know why I was never notified...but things turned out to be fine, so I am grateful for that. I suppose I should add a local TV channel to my tabs, so I can check it several times a day, since all we watch around here is Spongebob. (Well, almost all - there are a few other preschool shows thrown in there).

So, that was the start to our exciting weekend! Whew!

Friday Secrets

1. I find bestiality, when women are involved, a HUGE turn on.

2. Sometimes I'll take a half naked pictures of myself, edit with photoshop, and post on my blog.  And sometimes, I'll send those pics to a guy who is not my husband.

3. I browse thru Craigslist ads for hookups but usually just to see the ones that have a picture attached.  Love those amateur pictures.

4. On CL I also look at Missed Connections to see if by chance I caught the eye of anyone and I didn't realize it.  So far, no.

5. I used to have a fantasy of hooking up with a teacher, I think the attraction was the debauchery with a woman that people look up to.  But now my oldest daughter has started a career as a teacher.  That's how a fantasy can die, real fast.

6. My other daughter had a recent health issue that scared the crap out of us.  If she hadn't of made it I think I would not want to live.  Thankfully she is back to normal health, modern medicine is quite remarkable in some regards.

And because I have such awesome readers, I received another Mystery picture! Yay!

Enjoy and Happy Friday, hooligans!

Fingernails and Other Boring Stuff

Happy Earth Day, hooligans! I had a topic for today, but upon further thinking it through, I decided you all don't need to hear more about my colon. Hee hee.

I know you're disappointed...

A few weeks ago, I was trying to separate two loaves of frozen bread dough. I only needed one to bake and so I didn't want them both to thaw out, but I needed them apart.

After spending a while on the counter and not really getting any closer to a state of separation, Genius over here (that would be me) decided that banging them on the corner of the counter top might do the trick.

Guess who banged her middle finger between the brick-like frozen bread and the counter? Me, again.

It didn't really hurt for long, but it did bruise under the nail. It is STILL just bruised like crazy. It looks terrible, otherwise I would take a picture.

But, here is where the hookerlicious nails come in. I paint the nail a very light pink shade then put the press on nail on top. Voila! No more unsightly bruised nail.

Am I resourceful or what? I just hope the bruise starts to fade and my actual fingernail doesn't fall off. Do you think it will? 'Cause that would be very gross.

I like gross stuff, but not when it involves body parts falling off. MY body parts in particular.

I wouldn't even be able to put a hookerlicious nail on it. That glue would burn! Maybe I could put the nail on then wrap tape around my finger. That would be the white trash hookerlicious nail! Woot!

Getting To Know You

I stole another idea from Star Child - I might as well just have him write my frickin' blog for me at this point!

Anyhoodle, it's "The Interview".

I decided to pester the Evil Twin with my silly questions.

ETW: What do you think of my blog?

ET: It's great. You enjoy doing it. It's a creative outlet for you. You've made a lot of great new friends. It's a positive thing for you and it makes you happy. And if it makes you happy, I'm all for it.

ETW: Do you like my hookerlicious press on nails?

ET: Yeah, because you know I like the French Tips and I like how they feel when they... well, we just won't go there.

ETW: If we won a big lottery jackpot, what would you buy me as a surprise?

ET: The house you've always wanted or a nice piece of custom jewelry.

(side note from ETW - I love the house we live in now).

ETW: What has been our best vacation (pre or post a kid or 2)? And the worst?

ET: We've never had a good vacation. We've always fought. The beach trip with your parents was the worst.

ETW: How do you feel about our sex life?

ET: Aside from the kids, it's the best thing that ever happened to me! It's well-seasoned, and after 20 years, even more exciting than it's ever been.

ETW: What is your desert island record?

ET: (because I love him, I let him cheat and choose 2) It's a tie. "Love Zombies" by The Monochrome Set and "Romance" by Daily Planet (Ibon Errazkin's South American guitar band).

ETW: If we could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

ET: A quiet isolated beach community in my twilight years, but I wouldn't mind going back to New Mexico, because I love the desert.

And there ya have it. Getting to know your Evil Twin a little bit. He said it was stale that I picked him, but we all know I'm lazy and he's sitting right there, so it was a no brainer for me! LOL.

A Stolen Bit

I saw this on Star Child's blog the other day and couldn't pass up an opportunity to steal stuff.

1 - Ever take a shit in the woods?

No. I have pooped at various "odd" places, like an outhouse and at summer camp restrooms, but it all involved a toilet of sorts and toilet paper.

2 - If you won $1,000, what's the first thing you would do with it besides give me a cut?

$1000 is not just chump change, but it's also not a windfall, so there would be no sharing. Most likely, I would apply it to bills.

3 - What's your favorite phrase?

I like "Uglier than a bag of buttholes, with all the pretty ones taken out."

4 - Fill in the blank - the world would be a better place if ______ left the planet.

The world would be a better place if Cancer and HIV left the planet.

5 - How do you take your coffee or tea?

I only drink a sip or two of coffee each day and it's with very light half n half and a tiny bit of sugar. If I have hot tea, I use honey. If it's cold tea, it better be real sugar sweet tea, but I really only (mostly) drink water and wine.

And there ya go! 5 more things you were dying to know about me.

Feel free to steal and use on your own blog (link back to me - I'm a comment and link whore). Thanks!

It's a Wild World

The Evil Twin and I met after I had graduated college - I was 23, and he was 33. So, it stands to reason that we had both dated other people prior to meeting one another.

One of his long term relationships ended about 25 years ago and it wasn't an amicable split, but once the dust settled, they did have very sporadic contact with each other. It never bothered me. I knew they had a history and keeping in touch, even if it was every 5 or 10 years in between, they still had that earlier history.

I'm not going to get into the details because it's their story and not mine to tell.

But, I think in longer term relationships, there has to be a basis of a friendship under all the relationship baggage - at least I would hope there would be.

Years after the end, the water is under the bridge and the hurts and disappointments and stupid decisions fade.

Recently, this ex (let's call her ETF, for Evil Twin's Friend) has been going through a difficult time and she gave him a call to talk. Later that day, he told me she had called. I said, "Oh, if she's in town, you should invite her over for dinner or drinks." When he relayed that message to her, I think she was a little taken aback. Like I would dislike her or something.

I never had a reason to dislike her as far as I was concerned. Some time passed and we finally talked for the first time. We have so much in common. We laugh about the same things, we have similar (weird) interests.

Anyway, we've become fast friends. Who knew? I wish we had "met" earlier. She lives in a different state, so we still haven't met in person, but her family lives in this area, so I'm sure we will meet at some point.

Every now and then, I'll think about the circumstances and reflect on what an unusual situation it is, but then again, it's not so strange if I consider her to be his friend AND my friend. Not necessarily his ex and my friend, know what I mean?

But, as I told her the other day, it makes sense that we'd get along. She dated him for many years and for him to have stayed with her long term, she had to have the qualities he likes most in a person. I have many of those same qualities, so.... I knew we'd like each other.

I'm honored to call myself her friend. I'm reserved when first meeting people and until I feel "comfortable" with them, I can be a bit on the shy side, but she is even more reserved than me, so for her to drop her guard and give me a chance really means a lot to me.

It's funny what life will throw at ya sometimes. And, it often turns out to be the perfect thing!

Friday Secrets

1. I'm not typically a person who hates other people. I can intensely dislike people and not want to be around them, but hatred is not something I typically feel. I realized last night that I do hate someone so much that when she posted to her blog that "if it wasn't for [her] dog, [she] wouldn't be here at all" my first thought was, "go ahead and do it, the world will be a better place"

Intellectually I understand that it's MY world will be a better place, but emotionally I feel like the whole world would be better without her crazy and bullshit.

When it comes down to it, I don't want her to die, I just want her gone.

2. I do more blogging, twittering, and emailing my friends than I actually do work... at work.

3. I submit to www.boobemancipation.com on a regular basis. It makes me giggle to know that my friends, colleagues and a couple cousins are known to visit and have no idea which ones (if any!) are mine.

4. Sometimes while I am having sex with my boyfriend I have dirty thoughts to get me off harder... like I am sleeping with my married boss and we are at his desk... or that I am the babysitter and am sleeping with the married father of the kids I watch while his wife is in the shower...

5. I try and love my body, I really do - but sometimes, I just feel so fat and gross I want to punish myself. The fact of the matter is, many people consider me to be sexy or even hot. Somedays I see it. Somedays I can't stand to look in the mirror.

6. I am still in love with my daughters father... I've loved him like no other man (including my ex-husband) he treated me like dirt... and yet...I still love him unconditionally... and was really hurt when he started dating someone else... even tho I was dating someone too...

7. I've developed a big crush on one of your readers... Here name is Chandra. From the tiny picture on her profile I can tell she's really hot and a very beautiful woman! I just enjoy her comments and her humor.

8. I plan on marrying my boyfriend of less than 2 months.

9. I have a Twitter account and I only follow women on it. Women I have a huge crush on, including the sexy woman who is receiving this email. I wish I could sleep with all of you.

10. One morning last week, I spontaneously took a picture of myself in lacy lingerie for my secret honey while I was getting dressed. Then I put my clothes on and hurried out the door with my family. I sent the picture minutes later.... from church. Sorry Jesus.

And, a very special Mystery Cleavage shot. This one is impressive! :-)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Also, I received an email with just a name and the subject line of "secrets" but there was nothing in the body of the email - I don't know if that was just spam or if someone really meant to include content. If that is you, please resend and I will add it when I get it, okay? I'd hate to disappoint someone who wanted something posted. (Update - I got it. Secret #10!)

Breakfast of Champions?

Sissy is eating garlic peas this morning. You know the type: they're freeze dried or something and then flavored. Most people like the wasabi peas better, but the Evil Twin always buys the garlic ones.

And Sissy is hooked! I guess they do have some nutritional value, though? I'm not sure because the Evil Twin buys them at an Asian market and the writing on the package isn't in English.

Now, I can speak Spanish (fairly fluently), I can muddle along in French, but when it comes to the Asian languages, I might as well forget it. I have a hard time keeping up with Ni-Hao Kai Lan (a preschool kids' show about a little girl who is, I believe, speaking Mandarin).

Anyway, I guess it's better than the Pez she normally wants for breakfast. We jokingly call her Pester McFly because the child dearly loves sugar. Most of them do....

I should have seen it coming. I am not big on sweets myself. But when I was pregnant with her, I kept a stash of mini Snickers bars on hand and I would have one per day. I craved the deep fried cheesecake from Mayberry's.

I thought for sure I would end up with gestational diabetes! But, I only gained 13 pounds in 39 weeks and she was an average sized newborn at 7 lbs. 5 oz. A full 5 pounds bigger than her 28 week older brother, so she seemed quite large to me. :-)

When I was at the Mart of Wal on Monday, I dropped off a prescription and then forgot to pick it up. I only realized my oversight as we were headed out of the parking lot, so I'll be going back today(I'm out of it as of this morning, so I NEED that refill!). Luckily, there are a few other odds & ends I need to grab as well, so it won't be a complete waste of time.

I hope you hooligans have a happy Thursday - and don't forget about Friday Secrets. So far, I have no secrets... So, send 'em in!

Heloise Here to Help

Most of you know I have my regular routines. Things I do every day in pretty much the same order - I'm flexible, though, so there is some wiggle room for all my petty little details.

The one non-negotiable detail in my life is my need to vacuum every evening. I get Sissy in the bath and do all that, then I walk down the hall to let the Evil Twin know it's "his turn". He sits with her while she plays and then gets her out, dries her off and puts on her PJs. While he does that, I vacuum the area rugs in the den and dining room.

There are always crumbs, hair and bird feathers all over the place and Sissy is deadly terrified of the vacuum, so that's why I do it while she is still in the tub.

So, last night, I'm doing my usual routine and there is something on the carpet that is not coming up.

I lean over and flick it. It's a hard bit of I-don't-know-what. But, I flick it and it breaks loose from the rug and I proceed to run it over again with the vac and clean it up.

Why? Why do we do this? Why dislodge a bit of debris and then vac it instead of just picking it up and throwing it away?

Who knows.

I think it's the same compulsion that drives me to press the elevator button a zillion times while fully realizing my efforts don't make the elevator arrive any quicker.

Happy Tuesday, campers! I'm off for a shower and to get my daily chores started. Yay (did you hear the sarcasm there? LOL).

Crock Pot Sunday?

Crock Pot Sunday has been absent the last 3 Sundays. First time, we had other obligations, then it was Easter Sunday and we did a cook out with family, then yesterday, I had chicken I needed to fix and I wanted to prepare my Paprika Chicken - and that's not a crock pot meal.

As the weather gets warmer, I'm thinking of giving the Sunday routine a break.

To me, the crock pot means hearty meals. Meals most appreciated in cooler weather.

Maybe I'll go with Salad Sundays? LOL. The Evil Twin would NOT approve! I mean, he likes salad, but he likes it with an actual "real" dinner (that means something that involves meat).

Eh, I'll come up with something....

Maybe we could do Grillin' Sundays? That would mean the Evil Twin would have to do the cooking, but meat WOULD be involved? ;-)

I guess I just want one day out of the week to be easier on me where food planning is involved. One day where I don't spend time over the stove, setting the table, etc.

My mind is on this subject this morning because I haven't completed my weekly menu plan or shopping list. That's enough to drive an OCD person like myself over the edge. And we all know that Monday equals a trip to the Mart of Wal.

Help me out here! Any suggestions for lighter meals, but yet still filling and tasty? Being in a food rut really stinks.

Friday Secrets

Ahhhh, back to normal. But, I didn't get any mystery guest photos (hint, hint....)

Anyhoodle, here are the secrets. None are mine.

1. This secret isn't exactly the salacious type that seem so prominent here, but here goes. in 1986, there was a military operation code named El Dorado Canyon. I wasn't a pilot or air crew member. My job was monitor and support. This mission was an air strike on Libyan targets in retaliation for a terrorist attack in Berlin. All targets were clearly military targets, but even so, there were some civilian casualties (collateral damage). During the raid, a school was hit and many children were killed. At that point in my life, I didn't have much love for Arabs, and I still feel very leery concerning them. When we hit our targets, there was a lot of cheering and high fives and general celebration. Even then, when we found out we had hit come civilian targets, my thoughts were.......big deal. They deserve it. It was sometime later when we found out that we had hit a school full of children, that it hit me like a ton of bricks. I have children and at that time, both of mine were very young. I couldn't imagine how I would feel and how the parents of those kids felt when they found out their little ones weren't coming home.  I am tearing up, as I write this and it happened 24 years ago. It left a scar. Today, I have grandchildren, whom I adore and my wife and I also teach Children's Sunday School and Church. I think I have a very deep love for children, in part because I want to help give back a little of what was taken that day.

2. I think I have a jack-off problem.  I still like jacking off in the carwash, but I also used to jack off while driving.  Of course, it is incredibly stupid and dangerous, but, well, I was a young horny guy when I did this.  Anyhow, I would drop trou while driving and just go for it.  That part wasn't too bad but the, uh, finale is where things got dangerous.  It's not a great idea to close one's eyes and go into spasming fits while driving.  Add to that the problem of catching the man sugar so it doesn't get all over and it makes for potential disaster.  So, kids, stick to jacking off in the shower, not in cars, m'kay?

3. I heard the song "Runaway" by Love and Theft the today.  After listening to the lyrics, I realized it was describing me.  It said "I'm sick of where I work, My boss is such a jerk, don't care if I get fired..."  But I have people depending on me, so I cannot get fired.  But I don't like my situation.

4. When I get an email or phone call from my boss, it usually ends up bad for me.  For the first time in my career, I actually cuss (aka swear) and give the middle finger to the phone and computer monitor.  Its my only outlet for now.

Blog Fog

I have been feeling kinda blah lately. I can't think of any ONE specific reason why. I'm just tired. DST has taken a toll on me this year. Normally, I love DST. And, I still do, but I just haven't caught up yet.

Anyway, I'm the guest blogger over at Doc's place today. It's an oldie, but a goodie.

It's amazing how far the Evil Twin and I have come in our nearly 20 years together.

Early on, we argued quite a bit. I guess we've mellowed out in our old ages! LOL.

These help:

He's a happy, happy man.

Tuesday Newsday

I'm sure many of you have heard about the mine tragedy that happened in WV yesterday. This is the community where the Evil Twin's family is from and he even went to high school there for a semester. Most of his family still live there and some are miners. I'm not going to elaborate on it, because Buzzardbilly covered it much better than I ever could.

I mentioned yesterday that on Sunday, the Evil Twin removed his grill cover to find a bird nest perched on the side ledge. It has 4 eggs in it.

We use a charcoal grill and it gets very hot, very fast. Here is a side view of this most elaborate nest:

You can see how large it is and how close it is to the side of the grill. We didn't want to move it, but there was no other option. As I said, we carefully transplanted it to a high branch in an apple tree.

I saw a robin sitting outside the opening yesterday for quite some time, so I'm hoping it's the mama or daddy and they've found their transplanted clutch.

And, in completely unrelated news: I gave up bread for Lent and some of you guessed how much weight I might lose. Well, on Ash Wednesday (the beginning of Lent), I weighed 128.5. On Easter (the end), I weighed 128.5. Hahahaha! I guess I made up for the lack of bread by subbing pasta, rice, other carbs.

Now that my left knee and both ankles feel okay, I guess I should whip out that Jillian Michaels DVD again. Pool season is coming up, ya know?

I blew off the Mart of Wal yesterday. I was just exhausted. So, I'll go today. I'm almost finished with my weekly list. :-) Have a great day - and if you have a second, send out a good thought or prayer for our miners and their families. They'll need all they can get.

Wonderful Weekend

I hope everyone had a nice weekend, like we did. Saturday, the Evil Twin and I spent the day doing a good, thorough Spring cleaning on the house and then on Sunday, his family was here.

His mom and her husband, his brother and his wife and their 2 children (theirs are about a year older than both of ours - also 8 years apart!) and his sister.

We had decided earlier in the week that we were going to cook out. So, I stocked up on hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, buns, etc., etc. When the Evil Twin went out to move the grill and clean it for the season, a bird flew out from under the grill cover. When he took the cover off, there was a nest on the shelf on the side of the grill. There are 4 little speckled eggs in there.

I took pictures, but haven't uploaded them yet. I'll do that later and post them tomorrow.

Anyway, we knew we shouldn't disturb it, but really didn't have a choice. We picked a high branch on an apple tree and very carefully transplanted it. We'll keep an eye on it and hopefully, the mama bird will see it.

The family showed up and the Evil Twin got to grillin'. I had chopped up hamburger fixin's earlier, had diced onions, chili and slaw for the hot dogs (around here, people like cole slaw on their dogs...I still don't get it, but whatevs.) Then, I threw the shrimp scampi together. His mom brought a potato casserole and macaroni salad. I made my mom's 7 Up Salad (it's a jello dish) that my sister in law just loves and we all ate like pigs.

I don't think I have laughed like I did yesterday in a long, long time. One thing I can say about his family is that they are not the serious sorts. They're always cracking jokes or poking fun of one another.

The kids played in the yard and at the end of the day, we hid plastic eggs and the two littlest (our Sissy and our 5 yr old niece) "hunted" for them.

It was a busy weekend, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. Since I do have MS, if I over-do it, I tend to pay for it the next day. Alas, the Mart of Wal beckons to me, so maybe I can just veg tomorrow.

Totally worth it! I wish every Easter was just as fun. :-)

A Guest Shot

I only got one secret for this week, so I'll save it for next Friday. However, I DID receive a guest cleavage shot, so maybe this will spur you on to send in some secrets!

This is from someone I know, but not a blogger. She wrote that she can't change the date on her camera and it keeps defaulting back to 2003, even though this picture was taken last night.

Sissy and I are both getting our hair cut today. Buddy is off school for Good Friday, so he gets to come with us and keep her out of trouble while I get mined trimmed up a bit. I'm hoping that Sissy can get at least 10 inches cut without going too short.

If she has 10 inches to spare, we'll donate it to Locks of Love. I think it's a really cool organization and have always wanted to donate myself, but as I revealed yesterday, I color my hair and they don't take color treated hair. (I started getting greys in my early 30s, so I've been dying it for a long time.)

So, we'll see.

Sorry there are no secrets for this week, but I think the guest cleavage more than makes up for it. :-)

An Award? For Me?

Last week, Star Child gave me an award!

As is my usual MO, it takes me a while to get around to stuff.

I am now charged with the responsibility of revealing 7 truths about myself, and nominating 7 deserving bloggers for an award.

This is difficult for me, because I think I've shared just about every facet of my boring life with you all!

So, Seven Truths...Here we go:

1. I do color my hair to cover the greys, but the product I use is the closest match to my natural color as I can find. I was born with jet black hair and if I have my way, I'll go out with jet black hair.

2. I am not the most patient person on the Earth, but as I get older I've noticed I have mellowed out a bit (just a little bit, though).

3. I love to read, but since Sissy was born and my responsibilities increased 1000 fold, I haven't had the inclination to sit down with a book. I think that's sad.

4. March was a hard month for me. There were multiple doctor visits and dentist visits (spread out among all of us), which is both emotionally and financially draining for me to think about (I'm in charge of the finances, even though it's the Evil Twin's pay). As I've always said, I possess 3 and 3/4 brains in my one head. I have my own to deal with, then I have Buddy's, and Sissy's and 3/4 of the Evil Twin, since I coordinate and remind everyone of their schedules.

5. When Buddy started school, I was home by myself until Sissy was born when he was half way through his 2nd grade year. Some people might think that would be boring, but I loved it. I'm looking forward to getting Sissy in school, so I can get back to that. At least for a little while (or longer, I hope!).

6. I was born on April 22. I share a birthday with Jack Nicholson, Bettie Page, Earth Day and St. Francis of Assisi (which is also the parish church I attend).

7. I like chocolate okay, but I am powerless in the face of caramel. It should garner a special spot on the food pyramid, as far as I'm concerned. :-)

Normally, I don't like to pick favorites of my bloggers, but I have some new ones I've been reading and would like to point your attention their way:

1. French Shelter - Plus, she has promised to share a recipe to make sperm taste like candy if she gets 50 followers!

2. Gamecock Mama

3. 3 Men & a Lady

4. *Detour

5. You Just Keep on Believing That

6. Adventures of a Reallive Man

7. Zack's Hot Tub

Okay, that was difficult to narrow it down, but I tried to stick with "new to me" blogs I enjoy. I hope you do as well.

Now, let's not forget about Friday Secrets, mmmmkay? Email me at eviltwinswife@gmail.com. Completely confidential and I don't judge. Not my place.

Also, one other thing. If you have a private blog, I don't get those in my reader. I lost all my bookmarks with the big laptop death of March 2010. If you wouldn't mind shooting an URL my way, I can restore my bookmarks and visit you again. Since, I do have a mind like a steel trap, but I can't remember all that info! Thanks!
