Phew!

I called the courthouse this morning, first thing. The lady I spoke with was SO nice. At first, she couldn't find us - our name was so badly misspelled and I was listed first (probably because I take care of everything - even though I always say the Evil Twin's name first and sometimes don't even use mine at all - i.e. Mr. and Mrs. Evil Twin).

Anyways, she found us and gave me the account number and arranged to have a statement sent to us for 2007 taxes - I got one in 2006, wonder what happened? - but I can take care of my "issues" down at the local police detachment about a mile from my house.

I just know I'll find that file folder later this week. Isn't that always the way?

Speaking of weird things: when I was getting my license done on Saturday, they have a new deal where they'll get your fingerprint on it to lower your chances of "identity fraud". Yeah, right.

When the guy asked if I wanted my print on there, I said "No." My prints are already on file somewhere. (yes, I've been arrested).

I find things of that nature suspicious.

Not that I have anything to hide....

  1. I have never heard of the fingerprint on the license thing.

I've not been arrested, but I'm with you on this one. It just smells of Big Brother.

I'm not a huge fan of being watched.

  2. Arrested??? Hmmmm... seems like that would make an excellent blog.

  3. I recently cashed a check drawn on someone's business acoount, and I was made to provide TWO forms of ID and my thumbprint before they'd give me the cash. WTF?

Sure hope you find that file folder you've been looking for. Stuff like that can make a person certifiably looney!

  4. The fingerprint is news to me too. I'm with you on the Big Brotherness of it all. I worked in a bank. Fed took a full set for that. I also had the bank do that thumbprint dealio that Tiff was talking about whenever I've cashed checks at a bank where I didn't have an account but the checkwriter did. Weird, huh?

  5. I offered to give him a butt print. The guy laughed...
Then he winked at me and I almost threw up. I swear...some people can't take a joke.

    (I mean...I wasn't serious dude...blech.)

  6. Glad you are legal again! They asked me to do a fingerprint here when I went to get my address changed on my license. I also said no. I'm sure that if I lost it, someone, somehow, would figure out how to use my print for illegal activity and I'd be framed. I think they go too far!

  7. I gave my print. An index finger isn't much to work with.

I've been printed oh, never mind ... lots of times.
