The One Where I Reflect on 2007

Perhaps the biggest thing I'll remember about 2007 is that it went by really fast. I did sell my parents' house (finally) and settle the estate business. That was nice. We did a lot of remodeling to our own house. That was maddening, but now that it's all finished, we're happy we went ahead and did it.

2008 will bring me a 10 year old, a 2 year old and my 40th birthday. The Evil Twin inches one year closer to AARP age and will be 49 this year. We'll celebrate our 15th Anniversary in October. Wow.... It seems hard to believe it's been that long. Oh well... my dad wished us a LONG (and wanted to emphasize the "long" part) marriage.

There hasn't been anything terribly tragic happen this year, so that's good. No one in our families died. Well, except my sister in law's stepson who we had never met (he was in prison when they got married).

I'm looking forward to 2008 - seeing my children grow and change. I started working on a budget last year and I hope to have that running better and see some real changes in our bottom line.

I also hope to meet my biological mother and sister in 2008 and be able to visit my oldest childhood friend who I reconnected with this year after 20 years of not being able to find her. The internet is an amazing thing and for that, I am eternally grateful.

I've also met a lot of really cool, fun and funny fellow bloggers. They make my life a whole lot more interesting and I look forward to continuing to be a part of their virtual lives. Thanks for being there, friends!

  1. The older I get, the faster the years go by. This one felt like about 5 months - so 2008 should be over in 3 months.....LOL

  7. I feel like a baby. I have only revisited 25 like seven or eight times now.

    Have a good year.

  8. Happy New Year! Forty didn't bother me as much as 26 did. At 26, I knew that all of the big birthdays to follow would be "black balloon" birthdays. That 49 thing, though, can hit a fella kinda hard. It's the end of 48 and the introduction to the looming that 50 will be doing all year long. Those 9's are hard on the men.

  9. Happy New Year - and early 40th!

I had my nervous breakdown over age when I hit 16. It's all been gold since then!
