Amazing and Grrrr

It's amazing what a couple of tiny white pills can accomplish. I'm starting to realize that no matter how big of a pain in the ass it is to procure a refill for Ativan, I must work through that pain and GET THEM. Forever. Ahem.

The other day, I was putzing around on the computer (as I am wont to do) and I was on one website. When I went to look at my list of favorites, all the blogs had been magically shuffled to alphabetical order. (all the blogs are in the BLOG folder, imagine that).

Well, I don't read them in that order. I have my line up shuffled just the way I like it. In fact, I have some blogs on there I never read, but keep around in case I do want to pop by.

It takes me a few hours to just go down the list anyway.

But now my system is all whacked out and it will take a bit for me rearrange my list. Grrrr.

I don't know what happened. :::sigh:::: I will get started on "fixing" it today. So, if I haven't visited your blog in a day or so, you know it's because my routine is all over the place and most of my favorite blogs were shuffled to the end of the row and I don't make it that far every day.

Happy Birthday, greatest Country in the world!

  1. Hope you're feeling much better! But I'd avoid hot dogs in any case, lol! Happy 4th to you & yours :)

  2. Have a great 4th. I would have the Evil Twin fix up some hot dogs with chili and cheese.... Maybe even a nice dessert with orange jello or something like that.

  3. Just in case you aren't aware, Ativan can be very addictive; that is why it is not given out freely. It is intended for short-term use only.

  4. Carolyn, thanks. I think we're having burgers.

Ron - I told TET what you suggested and he just laughed.

lak - I know. I've been on it before - and now, I'm back on it again (thankfully).

  5. Yeah I've got a couple on mine that I don't read either. If they can't be bothered to stop by more than once (just enough to get on the blogroll), I don't stop by there either.

  7. Hope you guys had a great 4th.

Yes, Ativan can be addictive. In order to keep a handle on that, I only take them when I need them. When I have a high-stress period and have to take them as often as they're prescribed, I'm careful to wean myself back down when things emotionally start to settle for me.

My doc give me 3 mos script at a time. Until it was sure that I would need something for anxiety (seems I'm missing those "you can turn off now" brain chemicals that calm down the "holy shit" brain chemicals when I get super stressed, Ativan turns them off just fine)...until it was sure that I'd need something long-term for anxiety, we tried the Ambien route (because it was truly meant for short term, but now is prescribed long term...sometimes leaving patients having vivid hallucinations...including my Dad and another relative). We went the Ativan route when I was diagnosed long-term.

It is one of the safest meds for that. That's why nurses refer to it as Vitamin A. A lot of docs prescribe it to settle down folks agitated by being in the hospital.

Sorry. The PSA kinda ticked me off because it wasn't valid in the first place...other than the addictive part, which can very easily be controlled.

  8. honeywine - I read what's on my blogroll, but I have others that are "just from time to time" or almost never reads. Hehe.

Laura - You n me, both.

BB - I know. I figure people mean well, ya know? I only take one a day, anyway. Hard to get addicted to a pill I take once day when it's prescribed as "every 6 hours as needed". Besides I've been on it and off it for months before.

  9. One of my employees was prescribed Ativan, and was so concerned about addiction that she wouldn't take it at ALL.

She became so anxious and panicked that I had to threaten to send her home if she DIDN'T take it. She opted to take 1/2 a pill, and it worked.

All medications have potentially AWFUL side effects. Even OTC pain relievers can cause great harm over time, and can be addictive.

    //end rant

Still, it's nice to see that your readers love you enough to warn you. :)

I have a blogroll reading system, too! Right down to the 'almost never reads' that aren't on my blog. If I DON'T read in that order, I am lost!

  10. That automatically alphabetizing crap happened to me once and I was lost too, but then I finally got used to the list the way it was.

  11. Let me guess: you downloaded the latest version of FF?

Happened to me too. I dumped the whole file of bookmarks and just bop around the internet now...it's random, and fun!

  12. Renn - it's good to have a system. :-)

kenju - It was weird. I think I got everyone back in order.

Tiff - I wasn't downloading anything, it just happened! Do doo doo do (twilight zone music)
