Hang Onto Your Seats!

But, guess what? Today (Monday) is Mart of Wal day again. I guess the Tuesday thing just couldn't last.

Besides, I'm way too OCD for that sort of nonsense.

Seriously, is it that shocking that I cannot change grocery days? I think you all know me better than that!

I'll do the Walk of Shame to customer service and explain our last Tuesday fiasco. I hope they don't think I'm crazy or a criminal!

I'll definitely report back what kind of scene I caused. You know me, I'm eternally shameless. Makes for better reading on your part, at least.

The Evil Twin had Friday off for West Virginia Day (the day WV became a state unto itself - NO, WE ARE NOT PART OF VIRGINIA) and that kinda threw my whole weekend off. I kept thinking Saturday was Sunday and that Sunday should be Monday, you know how it is.

But, he will go back to work today and I will go back to the Mart of Wal today, so all should be well here at Casa Evil Twin.

In other news, my tomato plants are going gangbusters:

My pepper plants are doing okay - growing, but they have bug bitten leaves, so I guess I need to do some research into that. The picture was so pathetic, I can't even show it.

I can show you the kids' swing set, which has been a true companion for these two for several years:

We spent lots of time in our backyard this weekend, just enjoying the weather and the yard.

The Evil Twin works hard to keep it maintained and looking so nice.

All right, homefries, I hope you all have a great Monday!

  1. Good luck at the WalMartz! I'm guessing the customer service chick will look at you as if you are high, you must get a picture of that.

Oh! and next time, grab the popcorn chicken on the way in. We do that and it keeps my natives calm for at least 5 minutes or so. If I'm feeling really crazy, we'll grab a half pound of potato wedges too for the high price of $1.50.

  3. West Virginia has its own day? Seriously? As a kid, I always wondered why there was no East Virginia.

  6. OK ... I know I was on the "Do the right thing" bandwagon last week, but based entirely on the caliber of people evil WM hires, I'm really curious to see how this goes!

  7. M - I love those potato wedges!

Natalie - I always wanted a wooden swing set!

3C - Yep. WV became a State on June 20, 1863 - we seceded from Virginia and should have picked a different name (it causes so much confusion!)

SugarCain - It should be interesting.

    Steph - I'll add a link.

Dana - I'll let you all know!

  8. We had the exact same set for the Banana. Unfortunately after 8 years and three hurricanes it was looking a little sad.

Had to pay almost as much to get the sucker carted away as I paid for it.

And that concludes my whining for today. :-)

  11. Rots of Ruck at the Mart of Wall. I have to say, they are probably the easiest people to deal with - at least in my neck of the woods.

  12. Oh, those tomaters look awesome! If you have bugs on your plants, mix some epsom salt (cheap at your local pharm) with water in a spray bottle and spray the leaves.

    Bastards.

  14. West Virginia Day? Why don't I remember this from my years in Morgantown? I was even there for summer school.

I love it! I think we (my family) will start celebrating that day with fireworks and bourbon. Maybe even pepperoni rolls!

  22. no...you are NOT part of Virginia and let's keep it that way. You know where I'm going, and I know you don't want me to go there....

  23. Tomatoe plants look very good! I planted a few cucumbers (from seeds)...they're growing pretty well but since I didn't have a perfect spot to plant, they are growing slower than they should (not enough sun).

Hmm...I can't believe I actually posted the above..I'm really getting boring.

  24. My tomato plants look like crap... :) No matter how hard I try or which heat-resistant variety I get... they always burn up. In the sun, in the shade... no matter. I am so jealous because yours look gorgeous!
