A Little Time

I spend a large portion of my day taking care of my family - especially the children. Buddy is self sufficient, but Sissy needs help for *everything*, even though she wants to do it "all by myself".

I'm so scattered, I have a mile long list of things I need to do.

It's no wonder why I am tired and ready to unwind by 8:00P.

I love taking 20 or 30 minutes in the evening to sneak off to our bedroom and curl up in the cool covers. It's so quiet back there.

I almost never fall asleep. I just like to stretch and have a peaceful moment or so. It's not something I get a lot. Everyone thinks being a stay at home mom is a super cushy job, but it takes lots of patience and planning. Two things I don't particularly have in spades.

I just need a little time to myself every day. I don't think that's too much to ask. My heart has been shattered into a million tiny pieces, so I'll let this go for now... See ya soon, hooligans.

Love,

  1. I did this yesterday. I found myself alone in my room with a Pepsi, my Kindle, and plenty of pillows to cuddle. Then they found me, and I was surrounded by two kids and the neighbor's cat. Oh, well, at least I had my ten minutes.

  2. My get-away is a nap in the tanning bed. AHHH 20 minutes of sunlight and a fan to boot! Relaxing.

  3. I'm sorry to hear about your heart. I hope it can be put together again soon and not missing many pieces (a few always seem to escape). :(

I do so love to sneak off for 10 minutes of me time after a long day. Enjoy.

  4. Everybody needs that 1o or 20 minutes away from it all. Hmmm... or an hour maybe... or 2 - 3 hours....

  5. I cannot think of anything harder than taking care of little ones and a house (and a husband). Cushy job? I think not! When my sis in law was on maternity leave she was counting the seconds to get back to work just so she could have a break.

You have the hardest job in the world AND you don't get to leave it at the office AND the pay kinda suck. (If the pay is just cash, I guess if you count hugs and laughs and "I love you"s it is best paying job in the world!

  6. when the Things were small my break was watching "House Hunters"' at 7:30 pm. Yes, I made them watch it with me. A little piece of peace and quiet cannot be overrated.

  7. I'm so glad you wrote this. People look at stay at home mom's like we've got the easiest job in the world. My mother actually tells people that I don't do anything. I always correct her by saying "No...I do all the (bleep) that no one else wants to do."

I hope your heart feels better soon.

  8. I hide in the bathtub. It's totally my escape. Now if only I could train Not-So-Ex to not stand at the bathroom door and talk to me...
