Ho Hum

Things have been rather dull around here lately. I have a few ideas ruminating in my mind, but I can't get them to "gel" just yet. Maybe in a day or two.

My wallpaper removal project is coming along nicely. We've hit a little snag, but perhaps I will vlog that this evening for tomorrow's post. At this point, we're looking at paint colors and trying to decide on something.

Amazingly enough, the Evil Twin has not had his usual puckered asshole about home remodeling projects. He tends to get a little tense when the house is not in proper order, but he's been really calm this time around.

I guess he realizes, that except for the downstairs bathroom, this is our last paint project. And the downstairs bathroom is just going to be a repaint - there is no wallpaper, thank goodness. And, it's not a huge room, either.

So, that's pretty much it. Thanks for all the get well wishes! I think it's just a mild cold and hopefully, it won't hang around long! :-)

  1. Glad the project isn't causing much stress, it totally sucks ten times worse when you feel there's a major rush to finish. I figured you had that virus kicked by now, hope you're feeling better soon.

  2. I'd rather pull out my fingernails with pliers than strip wallpaper.

Just by saying that my next house will probably be covered in wallpaper.

    Hope you feel better!

  6. Every time you mention your wallpaper project, it makes me think about re-doing the master bathroom wallpaper in my house....I just need to get motivated!! It will take a while for that to happen, methinks...

  8. I wonder if ET's ass-pucker ratio is in sync with the bedside towel ratio? As in, the more towels used per week increases, as his ass-pucker-ing decreases.

  9. Ron - There is so much to be said about not sweating the small stuff (and it's all small stuff).

    A. - The former owners here were lovers of wallpaper. This is the last of it!

Powdergirl - you wouldn't even believe how uptight he can be if things are "out of place". :::Sigh:::

The Dish - I plan to hit the Deep Homo tomorrow to pick up more sample colors. :-) This is the fun part!

Shiny Rod - You got that right. Only one more (small) room to paint after this job.

GiGi - It's nearly addictive once you get started!

fattie20xl - Dude, that's gonna be some work!

Ginger - You might be onto something there. Many towels have been used recently.

  10. I myself tend to get uptight when there are projects going on in the house...maybe thats why nothing gets done around here!

    Glad you are feeling better.

  12. I am in awe of you taking on the wallpaper stripping project. Hell, it's all I can do to crank up the vacuum cleaner. Okay. It's broken, but if it wasn't I'd still have a hard time finding the energy.

This house came with some kinda special paneling that they don't make anymore. Solid sheets of oak. High dollar shit. Can't be replaced. Stupid person before us here decided to wallpaper one room herself. Swear to God she went to KMart and bought some cheap-ass shit they had on sale, then did the worst job I've ever seen of applying wallpaper. One day, I'll have to have someone else come in to steam remove and restore the wood, but I haven't worked up the energy to dial the phone on that one either.

  13. I think I'd rather do the wallpaper. I hate painting bathrooms. They always seem like twice as much work to me because of all the crap to work around.

  16. I keep glancing at your title "Ho Hum" and doing a word association in my head and thinking "Bitch Whistle".... Is that odd?

  17. Why remove the wallpaper when you can just paint over it like they have done in my apartment for over 80 years? ;-)
