We had a busy and fun weekend. On Saturday, a friend of Buddy's came over while the friend's mom worked. I am telling you, when these two boys get together, it is like NO work for me at all. They go off and entertain themselves with video games and just hanging out.
The Evil Twin's brother, his wife and our two nieces are in town this weekend as well, so we made plans to see them on Sunday. My MIL wanted us ALL to get together (meaning our family, her and her husband, my BIL and his family and my SIL (the Evil Twin's sister). We decided that hosting a cook out here might be the most practical solution for everyone.
We have plenty of room, the kids could play outside and we could all eat like pigs.
All of that and more was accomplished. We laughed like crazy - like we always do when we get together.
I really do love the Evil Twin's family and I truly lucked into some great in-laws. I just wish we all lived closer and could see each other more often. But, we keep in touch by phone and emails.
I guess we just have to do the best we can and enjoy the times we do have to spend with one another.

ReplyDeleteIt's finally summer here, hence forth I will see the in-laws pretty much everyday, as we all basically live athe beach all summer.

I lucked out in the in-law department too, and am so grateful! Coming from a small family it is nothing short of spectacular that I get to include these people as part of my own family. Like you, I do wish they lived closer, but I think it is me who will need to move closer ... hmmmm ...

Glad you guys all had a great weekend. I don't know if I'm lucky or unlucky in the in-law department because all of them had passed on before I came along. Considering my first mother-in-law, surely Curmy's folks would've been fun in comparison.

ReplyDeleteElle- If someone was bad mouthing your mother, you wouold just accept it? Her husband is pissed, she is creating turmaoil and she is bad mouthing my family. Not a chance will I set still anymore and take it. I guess you don't love or respect your mother enough to come to her defense when someone calls her an "asshole" I do!!!!
