I spent yesterday evening at Elle's place (her real place, not her blog) and JFab was there as well.
Elle fixed a delicious salad, stuffed shells and bread. We all ate (and ate) and talked. For dessert, she made Banana Split pie (I think that's what it was called - it was heavenly, and I'm normally not a pie person, but this had fresh fruit and a terrific consistency - not to mention it was drizzled with chocolate syrup...soooo, I gobbled it right up!).
After dinner, we sat in the den (that's TV room or fambly room to anyone not from the South) and talked some more. We told outrageous stories, and talked about JFab's impending motherhood. I was able to admire her perfectly shaped baby bump - and knew precisely how gloriously happy she is and how wonderful it is to feel the baby move around.
That - the movement - was the best part of both my pregnancies, but it's not something I want to experience again (for myself). It's just nice to revisit those fond memories every now and then.
I told them hair raising stories of the sex life of myself and the Evil Twin. Stuff I would never post on here, and not because I'm ashamed of it, but because I do try to keep it somewhat PG-13 here. But we did touch on the towel cabinet story and some other sordid facts.
Like the fact that I have lived a wild life and not sheltered at all, but how did I go so long before I found out what a Rusty Trombone is?
We laughed like school girls and surprisingly had SO much fun that I forgot to get my camera out and get pictures!
I'm sorry! But, I have a grand plan to have an even bigger Real Girl's Night Out for WV Bloggers and if we can arrange that, pictures will be taken! And posted!
It was so nice to get out of the house - alone - and have a nice dinner with only adults. I can't even adequately express my thanks to Elle for the lovely evening. But, THANK YOU so much! It was appreciated more than you'll ever know! :-)
Glad you had fun naughty girl.xxx♥
ReplyDeleteGlad you got out and had some fun. Next girls night out I'll have to make it down. Even if it means I have to sit across the street with a camera and some towels from the towel cabinet ;-)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how much we can appreciate just being with the girls at our ripening age?? I used to love it but somewhat lost it for a few years as I was having kids. I look forward to heading out with my friends just to get away. I desperately need it now. And OMG I had not idea what a rusty trombone was so I went to your links and OMG OMG lol. I am so in a hole!! lmao
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun and I'm still laughing! I'm so thankful that the blogworld brought such wonderful friends into my life :)
ReplyDeleteLook forward to next time!
Ahhhh. That sounds like so much fun. Makes me want to move back over to WV.
ReplyDeletesounds like fun! how about a TX-WV-IL bloggers reunion somewhere????!! Can you imagine??
ReplyDeleteThere are few things better than being able to share yourself with good friends, especially if there is food and drink involved.
ReplyDeleteI love my kids too, but there is something to be said about not having then around sometimes.
I'm so jealous I can't stand it!! If only I were a litte closer. You girls should take a road trip and we can party out on the porch one night!
ReplyDeleteGirl-time is so important. The description of the meal is making me hungry for lunch already! Or ice cream...
ReplyDeleteNatalie - I'm not sure if they'll have me back over again or not! LOL.
ReplyDeleteRon - I've said it before, just come on down and we'll have a blast!
Lisha - I know! I still have trouble wrapping my brain around that stuff!
Elle - It's just a good thing we weren't out in public!
SugarCain - What's taking you so long??
TGG - That might get a few people arrested! LOL.
g-man - no drinking involved (until I got home), but you're right... having time away from the kids is priceless!
Vinomom - You're close enough and we have a guest room....(hint, hint).
Gigi - I'm ready to break into the leftover pizza from here too!
Ok, you just educated me. I had no idea about trom-BONES! I think I probably should close my mouth now. ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fabulous evening!
Glad y'all had fun. I'm holding out for a slumber party with my girls this summer!
ReplyDeleteStuffed shells == happiness. As does feeling a bebe squirming. I was thinking about that the other day, the first time I felt each of my kids moving. Sounds like you had a great time :0)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a really fun night :)
ReplyDeleteThose evenings are the best kind. Love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat about a cross-gender WV bloggers' night out? Wait...that sounds bad...anyhow...
ReplyDeleteadult time is good! wait...that isn't too good either...
You all have NO IDEA how hard I laughed. I know you and Elle kept wondering "How dumb is Jenny?" Seriously! I got schooled last night! I was so full from that glorious meal and when we started telling stories---- I was done. Baby Fab was going nuts! I have never laughed so hard in my whole life!
ReplyDeleteUmmm... thanks for the links! Hubby wanted to know if I was really at dinner or at a kinky sex party!
that sounds sooo nice .... where are some cool NC bloggers I can hang out with???
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Glad you girls had a great time. Sounds yummy :)
ReplyDeleteIt must have been blogger meet up night last night! Although my kidlett is grown (well, he thinks he is) getting out of the house and hanging with GF's is a total treat!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the party pics!!
ReplyDeleteGator took the words right off my keyboard! Wouldn't that be the BEST?!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you all got together - I'm green with envy!
