Believe it or Not

Can you believe I didn't get any secrets or pics last week? If you DID send me something, I didn't get it. I've been awfully scatterbrained lately, so I suppose I could have missed something. Anyway, maybe next Friday will be more interesting (hint, hint, people!).

Today is the Evil Twin's birthday. He is 51! He wanted Chinese for lunch and I had ordered him a pecan pie blizzard cake from DQ, so when I went to grab the Chinese, I circled back around to DQ and picked up the cake.

I also picked up Miss Bella at 10 this morning from the vets. The one receptionist I always seem to deal with just loves her and says she's gonna steal her one of these days! LOL.

She is home finally and none the worse for the wear. Her belly doesn't seem to be bothering her at all, although I have seen her trying to bite on the sutures a time or two. They said if she kept doing it, she'd need the "Cone of Shame", so she couldn't bite there. Of all the indignities, I don't think any is worse than the "Cone of Shame". She's been through enough, already!

Her front paws also appear to be doing okay. The left one is totally fine, the right one seems a little tender. But, she's getting around okay - but only just to follow me around (she has not left my side all day - I even had to sit by her food dish while she ate and used the litter box. We got some of that "Yesterday's News" litter that are little pellets of recycled newspaper. They recommend that over shredded paper because some cats get confused and will start to potty on ANY paper.

None of ours in the past did that, but why take chances? Bella is her own girl!

We've had a good day so far on the Evil Twin's big 5-1. I think we intend on keeping up the festivities for the rest of the weekend! Yay!

Happy Birthday, baby! I love you SO much! :-)

Happy Saturday, hooligans!

Feelin' Anxious

I have to get Miss Bella (Della Doodle Bug) to the vet tomorrow AM by 7:30 for her spay. I know this is the responsible thing, but the vet keeps them overnight. I don't want her to be gone that long! Sadly, I am also having her declawed in the front and I KNOW! People think this is cruel and inhumane, but she will NOT let me put the Soft Paws tips on that I bought for her. (Anyone need kitten sized pink Kitty Press On nails? They're yours for free).

They won't let me pick her up until Saturday AM. I can come visit as much as I'd like, but honestly, I just feel guilty enough about the spay (even though I know that is the best for pets, even the indoor types, like Bella).

I will probably cry all day tomorrow and into Saturday until I can get her.

I love her like nothing else (not as much as my children or husband, but VERY close).

The saddest thing for me, just like my children (especially Buddy - who needed intensive care and several surgeries before age 2), is that they don't understand WHY. They're in pain and feel miserable and you can't explain it's for their own good.

Luckily, Buddy does not remember his plight and frequent medical intervention. I'm hoping it's the same for baby cats. In the past, we've had other cats who have gone through both procedures and turned out just fine, but I consider Bella to be the MOST special cat I've ever had. Our bond is already so tight. Leave it to a Calico to be your very fast, special friend from the get-go.

I hope she's not too mad at me by Saturday morning.

Speaking of Saturday - it's a very special day around Casa Evil Twin. I'll update later, but I have plans to make and things to research, so I'm offa here!

Happy Thursday, hooligans - Don't forget about FRIDAY SECRETS. Email me at eviltwinswife@gmail.com!!!! Puuuuuhhhhlease! I'm going to need the distraction this Friday!

Love y'all!

Like a Rolling Stone

I feel like I've been so busy this year, this summer, in particular that I haven't been able to stop and just BE.

Yesterday, I had an appointment with the "female" doctor for a procedure in preparation for my hysterectomy. I was mildly uncomfortable for the rest of the day, but luckily, the Evil Twin took family sick leave so that I could get a little bit of a break and rest.

We're also gearing up for school to start and a quick vacation. Once school (and pre-school) start, the whole time frame continuum just snow ball on me.

Sure, I'll have a few hours to myself, but those precious few will be eaten up by grocery shopping, house cleaning, etc. There is always way more to do in any average day than I can accomplish.

Lawsy knows I'll have enough laundry and such to keep me busy! You wouldn't believe what a family of four can go through with clothes, towels, etc.

Looks like I'm headed out shopping today. Nobody ever gives me a complete list when I actually do my big shopping trip, which in turn means I have to make a 2nd trip to the store. In a week! And it's not like we're just floating in the money river here at the end of the month. Lovely.

I will continue to make silk purses with sow's ears. :-)

Happy Wednesday, hooligans!

Weekend Antics

In an effort to have some sort of break from my family (mainly, the kids and more pointedly, Sissy), I decided to do my grocery shopping on Sunday. All. By. Myself.

Ahhhh. I was able to get through with few hassles and even saw our own favorite cross dresser, Pat. I smiled at her, she smiled at me! Although my purple hair was no match for the attention SHE got! Dangit!

So, I got out of the store, only to be caught in a monsoon about halfway through the parking lot. There was so much thunder and lightening, I decided I'd be better off getting soaked than carrying a metal lightning rod (the umbrella), so I just did the best I could. We had some paper towels in the van, so I was able to dry off a bit and then head home.

I made the Evil Twin retrieve the groceries from the "Grocery Getter" van - the bags were all full of water! I had to change all the way down to my undergarments. That's how hard the rain was! And, it was raining sideways. I was glad I didn't have either of the children with me.

It was hilarious. When I got home, the Evil Twin said I looked like a drowned rat (thanks, honey!)

I haven't been out in that kind of rain in forever! I just kept hoping I wouldn't be struck by lightning! LOL.

On Saturday, we'd had a sunny and warm day, so after dinner, I let the kids change into their swim wear and spray each other with the garden hose. I don't think they've ever had as much fun together as that. I love when they get along so well.

When I shop on Sundays, I can take Mondays kind of laid back. I'll do some laundry. I think I'll re-purple my hair. Just kind of get some little things finished!

Happy Monday, hooligans!

Friday Secrets July 23

Here are your Friday Secrets!!! Great stuff this week. I wuv my readers!

1. I have had the great pleasure of getting to see eviltwinswife nude. It is still a very fond memory of mine. It was around 1988 or 1989, and ETW, myself and another friend had been hanging out drinking. We had gone back to ETW's house and we had gone to her room to hang out. When we got to her room, she proceeded to change clothes. I couldn't remember if she was wearing a bra or had taken it off, but I can remember when I saw her, she was not wearing a bra and was only wearing black panties and black hose. The memory still makes me smile.

2. Every time that my Gmail tab shows I have a new email and it's not from you, I cry.  I have no idea what happened to you or where you've gone but I miss you more than you'll ever know.  I'm going to continue to email you until I hear back from you or until your inbox is too full to accept any new messages. I'll never accept that you're really gone. I can't.  It hurts too much.

3. I'm sometimes shy IRL. Go figure.

4. I bought my first sex toy the other day and I love it! (And so does my boyfriend.)

5. Someone I know is pregnant. She announced it on Twitter, I think because she has no friends to tell otherwise. Although she claims to know who the baby-daddy is, I have a feeling that it's going to get very Maury-esque. I can not wait!

6. I'm secretly thrilled that my sister doesn't want to hang out with me on Saturday.

7. Sometimes I wish my boyfriend would ask me for "naughtier" things. Don't get me wrong, the sex is great in both quality and quantity, but sometimes I think it would be just dandy for a little more kink.

8. I donate money, blood, time and talent to causes I believe in because I fear that deep down I'm not a good person for things I think and say. I hope this makes up for it.

And now for the mystery pic!

And now for another secret, which is NSFW/NSFK. Please scroll down a bit for this one and don't view it at work or around children.

Happy Friday, hooligans - Enjoy the Secrets and your weekend!

A Lazy Day

I actually have nothing planned for today, which is rare. There may be a trip to the pool later on if the weather perks up. Otherwise, I'll be just chillin' at home.

I think I feel like just doing the bare minimum, though. Some laundry, make some phone calls, that sort of thing.

The kids are engrossed in watching "The Wizard of Oz", so I should be able to do a few things around the house.

Please don't forget about Friday Secrets - and if you're so inclined, a Mystery Pic! Everyone loves the Mysteries! ;-)

I'm off to do nothing (or perhaps, get a quick nap). :-)

Have a Happy Thursday, hooligans!

I Almost Can't Wait

For school and pre-school to start in August. Buddy hasn't been a problem this summer, but Sissy is obviously VERY bored. She needs something to distract her for part of the day.

I'll be able to attend to my housework duties at least part time. I plan on going back to my super organized way of life that I haven't had since after my parents passed away and before Sissy was born.

There has been a 6 year gap in "normal" around here and I'm ready to move on.

We had some annoying friends who felt like I should have a job outside the home. They had assorted "au pairs" to tend to their children, even though the husband could have stayed home with those children. Every time we chatted with them, the husband would ask, "When are you going back to work?" Hello? I do work. I don't get paid.

But, I gave birth to these two children and they are my responsibility. My mom was a stay at home mom my entire life and I plan on following in her footsteps.

I know many families can't afford to have one parent at home and certainly, a single parent can't stay at home. I get that. Even WE struggle with bills, etc. But, I do part time work from home when it comes my way. And, it generally comes my way when we need it most, so it's all good. :-)

Sorry for the tangent...Who knows where it came from? That's how my feeble brain works sometimes. :-)

That Damn Cat

Which is the way we refer to Bella Ravioli most of the time. She is into everything. Such a typical kitten.

I love the way that the Floyd County, KY animal shelter updates their adoption info:

Ravioli

She is so beautiful, she was only there for 10 days. Until I snatched her up and brought her home with us. How lucky for us!

We mostly enjoy her kitten antics, until she puts her razor sharp kitten claws into one of us or jumps up on the counter or worse yet, the bird cage! Bad girl!

She is funny and sweet and loves to beg for people food. She is as curious as the tales go and investigates every square inch of the house - she's not quite finished. It's 2700 square feet of house. She likes to try to escape out the back door, after I let her out there on a lead. She needs to learn that the ONLY way she is going outside is on a lead - like my Chingate. She would hear her lead jangling and come running for a chance to get out and explore.

Some people give cats the short shrift on being good pets, but they really can be. You just have to work with them and understand their limitations and capabilities.

Please, if you desire a pet, look around online at the shelters! These sweet pets need homes and are often the best buddies you will ever have!

Happy Tuesday, hooligans!

Ahhh, Monday!

Back to the regular routine again! The Evil Twin felt well enough to go to work this morning (we had both had some sort of intestinal bug last week and he was home Thursday and Friday).

I got a new part time job stemming off from my original P/T thing. Same client, only I'm going to be doing his weekly grocery shopping now. I stopped by his house on Saturday and got his list - he didn't ask for much, but then again, he is a single guy who has some physical disabilities, so I assume he doesn't do much cooking on his own.

So, now I have the original responsibilities - along with the shopping. That's cool. I'm at the Mart of Wal at least once a week (typically Monday) and I'll also swing by the K-Roger once a week for a quick trip.

Today is my maiden voyage of shopping for him, and shopping for my family too. We'll see how it goes. I don't anticipate any issues.

It's a sweet Monday so far. I have some phone calls to make and things to check up on, so I'm outta here....

Happy Monday, hooligans!

Friday Secrets July 16

Good secrets today and even a mystery pic! Enjoy!

1. Sometimes, I intentionally drive on the rumble strip because I enjoy the "sensation."

2.

3.

4. I have been invited by a couple to come visit them and participate in a threesome and I can't wait to do it!

5. I love wearing heels, hose and sexy underthings.  I love dresses and skirts, long hair, pretty nails, and looking very feminine.  I love thinking that men find me attractive and want to use me like some sort of sexual object.  I would love to be a french maid.

I check out porn sites all the time and look at pictures of women servicing men, being submissive and slutty.  I like to fantasize about being them.

I'm married.

I'm not attracted to men.

I'm a guy.

Happy Happy Friday, hooligans! :-)

It Is Done

I spent all day yesterday afternoon working on my hair.

I bleached for an hour and still couldn't get all the color out of the ends. But, I didn't want to fry it out, either, so I just went with the lightest I could get it. Then I rinsed and dried it and applied the purple with a small paintbrush. Rolled it all up with a foil ball and threw a shower cap on my head for another half hour.

Washed, dried and voila!

This should last about 4 weeks or so. We'll see. I guess when it starts to grow out or fades, I'll just use my regular 121A from Miss Clairol and go back to my normal look. :-)

We live in a small town...it'll be fun to see people's reactions. Or if they'll even notice...There are a few "goth" kids around. LOL.

P-Day

That is purple hair day. I'm really nervous. I have one kit of Splat! Lusty Lavender and one kit of Miss Clairol Root Touch up (in black). I have some greys I can see along the part, so I want to cover those without having to do all my hair with the normal color I use (which is the closest I can find to my natural color), I'd like to keep the hair that has already been partially bleached and re-bleach it. That way, I shouldn't have to be in the foil too long.

The problem is, I can't decide which to do first: bleach and the purple, then rinse, dry and do roots or vice versa.

My sister in law (the Evil Twin's sister) stopped by this morning and offered to do it for me, but I hate to ask her to go to all that trouble. I mean, the whole ordeal is going to take a while, but she does her stepdaughters' hair (she has twin stepdaughters). Maybe I should call her to come back over. LOL.

Ok, time to shit or get off the pot. I need to do something! Keep your fingers crossed that this is not an epic disaster. :-)

Happy Wednesday, hooligans - and DO NOT FORGET about Friday Secrets. No excuses - you have plenty of time to get them in before Friday morning!

When It Rains...

It pours, literally. I have had 3 (THREE) different doctor appointments in the past 2 weeks!

I don't know how it worked out that way, but, it just did. Last week, I saw my primary care physician for a follow up appointment. I came home, the proud owner of a prescription for high blood pressure! Nobody ever said I didn't like to take a walk on the wild side, huh?

This morning, I had an appointment with my "lady bits" doc. I've been seeing him since before Buddy was born and I never get nervous seeing him - we've developed a good rapport over the years. Plus, he listens and can be aggressive with treatment when necessary.

I won't go into detail here, to save my male readers trauma, but the bottom line is: he is setting me up for a hysterectomy, but just a partial, unless there are other complications. There is a newish procedure where everything is done thru three small incisions and the recovery time is 24 hours as opposed to the traditional method with a 4+ week recovery time.

At my age, the "office" is closed and the way I see it: All that junk is just cancer waiting to happen. Plus, no more shopping for "products", no more annoying "monthly" stuff horning in on mine and the Evil Twin's good times.

I've been dealing with this shit since I was 12. Time for mama to get a break!

And speaking of raining, when Sissy and I came out of my appointment, it was like a monsoon here, we made a run for the van, but were completely soaked. It was a yucky drive home.

I figure it's ok my hair is ruined for the day because I'm expecting my new hair color kit today. I'm going to do the root touch up on the black hair, re-bleach the front sections and put a semi-permanent purple on it. It should last 6 weeks or more, whereas the last dye job was done with temporary, wash out color and it's almost all gone. Wah!

It's nearly 1pm here and I need to work on laundry, make some phone calls and sort thru my part time work stuff to see if anything needs my immediate attention.

Have a happy Tuesday, hooligans and I will see you back tomorrow - same bat time, same bat channel! :-)

Alarms

As you know, the Evil Twin took last week off work for vacation, but we didn't go anywhere. He used his time mostly to do work around the house and yard that needed attention.

I considered it kinda like my vacation, too, but I also got caught up with housework. At any rate, it was an opportunity for us to sleep in a bit - at least until Sissy woke up, that is - which is anywhere from 7:30 to 8 am.

The alarm normally goes off at 6am, so even just an hour or so is a treat for us.

I, however, woke up at 6:15 on the dot just about every morning. I would drift back into slumber land shortly thereafter, but it was annoying waking up that early.

I guess my internal alarm clock was making sure the Evil Twin wouldn't oversleep on a work day.

I've always been that way. I'm also a champion napper. In my head, I can tell myself "Wake up in 20 minutes". I may go a few minutes earlier or later, but it works out for me most of the time.

Aside from my early morning "wake ups", we had a good week and accomplished lots of little things. And a few big things, too. The yard looks great (Thanks, Evil Twin!). We have a double lot, so it's a chore to keep up with everything.

Now, we're back to the old grind... And, another busy week ahead for me. :-)

Friday Secrets

Only received a couple of secrets for today, but they are good ones!

1. Friday Secrets is like one of those Match.com or AFF places!  Through some casual chatting, a neighbor and I both figured out that we had each submitted entries to Friday Secrets.  Since then, we have been trading numerous intimate secrets with each other.  Her husband and my wife are both benefiting from the increase in sexual tension and excitement.   I have loved Friday Secrets since you started.  But now I'm loving Saturday Secrets, Sunday Secrets, Monday Secrets... you get the point.  Yay Secrets!!!  Yay neighbors!!! Yay ETW!

2. I'm a mother of 2 and happily married to a wonderful  man.
I recently reconnected with an old friend from elementary/high school.  A month ago I had sex with him and really want to do it again.

AWOL

Sorry I didn't post yesterday - having the Evil Twin home throws my schedule off, but it's been nice to have him home!

As I said on Tuesday, we did Cajun Chicken Kabobs on Monday, so I thought I would post the recipe I used (found on Cooks.com)

3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1 inch cubes
3 large peppers, color of your choice, cut into pieces
2 large onions, cut into pieces
16 skewers (10 inches long)
1 Homemade Gourmet Louisiana Gumbo Mix
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup oil

Thread chicken, bell pepper and onion alternately on skewers and place in a shallow dish. Set aside.

Combine mix, water and oil in small bowl, stir until well blended. Pour marinade over kabobs. Cover and marinate in refrigerator for at least 2 hours.

Prepare grill and lightly brush grate with oil. Drain and discard marinade. Grill 8 to 10 minutes or until chicken is cooked thoroughly, turning occasionally to cook evenly.

TIP: If using skewers made from wood or bamboo, soak in water for 30 mins. before use. This will keep them from catching on fire during grilling.

I only used a pound of chicken, one pepper and one onion (I only did 4 metal skewers). I couldn't find the Gumbo Mix, but I did find this:

I put maybe 1/8 cup of the cajun seasoning in with the water and oil, maybe a tad more, but it turned out really tasty.

I knew we'd be eating leftovers forever if I made the full recipe.

People: Let's not forget about Friday Secrets tomorrow. Email your submissions to eviltwinswife@gmail.com. :-)

I've got a busy day ahead, so I'm outta here! Happy Thursday, hooligans!

The Long Weekend (Updated!)

And we're STILL celebrating! Friday, we just took it easy. On Saturday and Sunday, the Evil Twin tackled the yard and outdoor chores while I cleaned inside. I went to the Mart of Wal on Sunday (how brave of me!), cause I wanted to buy everything fresh.

We did a cook out on Monday - we had a friend and her daughter over. They had come in from Florida to visit her family. This would be ETF (the Evil Twin's ex-girlfriend), whom I had not met. We have spoken on the phone quite frequently and always have fun conversations, we have lots in common - I can't tell you what she does for a living, but it impresses the hell out of me. So, she definitely has my respect, as well.

They brought over a lovely (and delicious) fruit platter - I should have taken a picture before we all descended on it like savages! And also a bouquet of beautiful flowers. I'll have to get a pic of those later.

We ate like pigs. We had hamburgers, hot dogs and cajun chicken kebabs (what is it with my trying a new recipe for the first time when company comes by?). Anyway, they turned out great, according to the Evil Twin. We also had pasta salad, potato salad, chips, brownies, the lovely fruit platter and all the fixin's.

After we ate, we sat and chatted. There was much laughing, we also talked about normal things. I'd heard so many of the old stories of when they were together, I could chime in and didn't feel left out at all. Then, there was the drinking of wine and us 3 big girls (ETF, her daughter and yours truly) gathered around my trusty laptop to view a cyst exploding video. Ah, good times, good times!

There was more chatting and more eating and drinking, then came the "highlight" of the day, you might say. I let them bleach the front of my hair and color it purple. Yes, I did! And, yes, I am 42....what of it? It looks great - subtle, like I had wanted it, not over the top bright.

Of course, Buddy rolled his eyes at the prospects of his mama having purple stripes in her hair, but he can get over it! LOL.

It seemed like I had known them forever and I was very sad when it was time for them to go. Unfortunately, it was hotter than blue blazes here, so we didn't get to sit outside, like I had wanted. But that's ok - sitting inside with the nice AC was fun too.

I hope we can get together before they have to head back South!

Happy Tuesday, hooligans!

Friday Secrets, Sadly Not Here Today

I only received one secret this week and one mystery photo, so unless the senders of those items don't mind, I'll just save them for next week OR if I get more secrets today or by 9 or so tomorrow morning, I'll post on Saturday.

The Evil Twin is on vacation starting today and all next week. I sense a touch of "too much togetherness" by the end of next week.

Although maybe I'll get to sleep in one morning. That would be really cool. These days, sleeping in to me means 9 or so.

I should be able to knock a bunch of things off my "to do" list with him around, and that's also a good thing!

I might see y'all tomorrow, or it might be Monday. Don't worry - I have plenty of gardening stories and other excitement to share!! :-)

Happy Friday, hooligans!

Too Many Changes

I had an appointment at the neurologist yesterday (well, technically with the physician's assistant - he's a really nice guy). I busted my butt to get downtown and park in time for my 2:40 appointment.

Sissy and I sat in the meat locker waiting room until we were called back at FOUR PM. Yes, I had to entertain a four year old for over an hour in a cold waiting room that isn't exactly kid friendly (they had one ripped bag of dirty foam letters and numbers as "toys". That was it.)

We finally get into the PAs office and he drops the bomb that I had heard whispering about in the waiting area - The neurologists (husband/wife team)are moving. To Oregon. On July 30.

At least they had the decency to let me know ahead of time, so I could sign for my records to be released to me. My former neuro skipped town and sent the note of his leaving AFTER he left, so I had to go to some crackhead area downtown and PAY for MY medical records and furthermore, they couldn't find my MRIs. I was told they were "probably in a trash dumpster somewhere". Lovely.

Also, in addition to having to move to a new neuro (I'm following the PA to his new job), the Evil Twin's employer and the insurance we've had for over 12 years could not come to a compromise and so today marks the start of a whole new and different insurance policy for us.

I've already called them (the new provider) to verify that all the medications we need are covered under their policy - actually, there are only 3 and they're all mine. So.... But, yes, they're covered. Still, there are deductibles and copays and all that fun stuff. I think the monthly premium is less than what we had been paying, but the coverage isn't as good.

I've been doing battle with our former insurance for more than 12 years and I foresee the next 12 (or more) years to be the same.

Please, don't get me wrong: I am extremely grateful to have insurance and it's pretty good, too. So I'm not complaining about that. I'm just frustrated by all the red tape. Health insurance, life insurance, bill paying, doing the taxes, taking care of the bank accounts....it all falls under my "other duties as assigned" and it can be overwhelming sometimes, ya know? (And yes, I use Turbo Tax. Thank goodness).

Don't forget about Friday Secrets - or mystery photo, if you're so inclined (PG-13, please). :-) Send 'em by 9ish tomorrow morning and I'll post them as soon as I can.

Happy Thursday, hooligans,
