A Taggety Fool

I was tagged by four people for three different memes. (two people tagged me on the same one). That's cool. It gives me something to work with for the day.

I was tagged by SoLow and Jenny Fabulous for this one:

1. Link to the person that tagged you
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself
4. Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs
5. Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.
6. Let your tagger know when your entry is up.

Okay, we all know I'm lazy as all get out, so I will not be tagging others, but feel free to steal if you wish (and link back to me... yeah, that's the ticket. I'll let you all do ALL the work...).

I'm not sure if there isn't much about me you all DON'T know already. I'm odd and I don't mind sharing that. But, I will earnestly try to come up with six I haven't shared previously.

1. I've only had one pedicure in my whole life. It was the week before Sissy was born and I was having a bit of a hard time reaching my toenails. I like for my feet to look nice at all times, so I allowed someone else to pamper them. Not that it mattered much... at the hospital, they give you these little non-skid footies to wear, so I don't think anyone saw my feet the entire time. But, I digress. So, I had the pedicure and while it was nice, I was a little perturbed having to choose a color at the salon. I have one color I like - Revlon Color Stay "Always Vintage" - and I don't vary. With that said, I guess you can come to the conclusion that I prefer to do my own pedicures.

2. I love to lightly stroke the insides of my arms with the fingertips of the opposite hand, from wrist to elbow and back again. It feels good, somewhat tickly, but good. Calming. Reassuring. I don't know when I started this exactly, but I remember it from early childhood.

3. I have always been very introverted, so I think it's a good thing I married an outgoing Leo - the Evil Twin is super friendly and can talk to anyone. I think it has helped me come out of my shell somewhat as well. Side note: if you and I are close friends in real life, you'll be saying "Huh?", but trust me, it takes me a while to warm up to people. After I get comfortable with people, I just know no shame.

4. I really love Merlot, but I drink Chardonnay, so I won't stain my teeth. I plan to get them professionally whitened soon.

5. If I see a pubic hair in the bathroom, I know it's not mine. Since the age of 19, I have shaved everything from the neck down every day - save the small bit of hair on the tops of my forearms. Otherwise, I'm hairless.

6. By the time I was in 2nd Grade, I was reading at the college level. For free reading time, I would often choose the dictionary to read. I'm fairly sure that's the reason I love word games so much these days. Give me a word search, a crossword puzzle or a cryptoquip and I'm a happy little puzzle solver.

Okay, that's as much as I could mine for this post. There will be two more much in the same vein. So, I plan to do a Saturday and Sunday post, and that way I can get back to my usual pathetic topics on Monday.

But, if you're trolling around over the weekend - stop by! I'll have something new up!

It's a glamorous Friday and they closed school today too! A four day weekend for your intrepid hausfrau!

I think at that age, I was still looking at the pictures in the Dick & Jane books and trying to recognize the colors.

  2. Sweetie does the rubbing the arms thing too. She even does it while she's sleeping. I'll look over at night, and she's out of it, but her arms are in the air and she's doing the nails on the inner arm thing.

...and I've got you beat on number 6...when I was in college, I was reading on a 2nd grade level! I'm a huge crytogram fan. Have you ever gotten into some of Edgar Allan Poe's crytogram writings? Many people don't know this but he was really into code writing and especially decyphering. He wrote some great stuff on how to figure them out.

You shave everything from the neck down? How do you shave your taint? Do you have a friend over?

  9. Dsve - I think I got extra reading genes to make up for the lack of math genes...

JA - I didn't know that about Poe. Will have to research it - it sounds neat!

    Ron - I don't know about you, but I don't have a hairy taint.

Vinomom - There's something so great about being *smooth*.

TGG - Apparently, it's pretty common!

Warren - just wait. I have two more of these things coming! LOL.

Alex - At least I know it's not just me!

The Girl - When it rains, it pours...

  10. Right you are... I said, huh? Introvert?
But I guess once most people are comfortable the true colors come out. I'm the same way.
Glad you get a long weekend.
Doesn't it seem like we've had a lot of time off from school lately?

  11. Number 5 is my fav - as was probably expected. LOL

  12. I just braid all the hair below my neck. It saves time. ;)

  13. I'm with you on the hair issue. Smooth rules! I also like Merlot but drink Chardonnay. Not because of the staining issue, but because I'm allergic to red wine. Sucks, right?

  14. Did you know you can take your own nail polish to the salon? I often do that.

My teeth are naturally yellow, supposedly from some meds my mom took while she was pregnant with me. Even if I have them whitened, they will not be really white - so I drink red wine - I like it much better than white.

  15. My mom had this great ornate old unabridged dictionary/encyclopedia when I was growing up. I used to love to sit and read words all the time. When we got the World Books I was the same with them. I too love the puzzle games. I'm addicted to Scrabble Cubes (free on WorldWinner) right now.

  16. I totally do the rubbing the arm thing...from under the arm to the elbow...it tickles and then I scratch it really hard. What's that about...who knows it just feels good and even better when my husband does it for me!

  17. roflmaaaooo @ "I know it's not mine"

Geezus...you made my water go up my nose a little with that one :)

  18. No pedi's!!! Since I saw that Dateline episode where some ladies had these terrible sores (that will not evber go away) from people not washing out those tub-thingy's I have begged EVERYONE I know to NOT get those. Call me a freak. But I will NEVER get one. Just say no ladies!

  19. MsPulp - I guess with the holidays and weather, it does seem that way.

    SoLow - shocker! ;-)

honeywine - Well, that's a nice mental image. LOL. (and I know you don't do that!)

Crazy Mo - that does suck. I've heard of people being allergic to red wine before. Some additive or something?

Kenju - mine are stained from too much flouride (no flouride in the water where we lived when I was small - mom had to give us flouride tablets), so there may not be much to be done on mine either, but I wanted to check into it.

BB - Heated competition at the shower tomorrow if there's a word search, then!

Chandra - it seems like we're in good company!

Laura - and yet another TMI tidbit for you to know. You're welcome.

JFab - yep, I saw that too and was grossed out. Cheaper and easier (and less risk of fungus) to do it at home! :-)

  20. I think Ron brings up a valid point---and I have trouble believing you're naturally hairless in that inbetween area. That just isn't natural! And it's kinda weird that we're both mentioning pubic hair on the same day!

  21. Dammit! Both you and Ron did memes on the day I tagged you for one on my page! BLAST!

  22. Hey! I love puzzles. I have a wordsearch by the bed (not my favourite but nice to do at night), a Sudoku by the sofa and a Arrowword in my drawers. My desk drawers that is.

  23. Yes, I did see the memo about Mom's not getting sick days! :) I had to take a couple though! I was totally out of commission!

I had my teeth professionally whitened and I will say it's SO WORTH THE MONEY! You only have to touch them up once or twice a year with trays they make specially for your teeth.

Pedicures.... LOVE THEM! I can't do my own. I have to get them done! :)

    Hugs - Tiffany
