The Meeting

It was a strange meeting, that's for sure. It was the Evil Twin, myself, the principal and Father (the priest). Of course, Sissy was there too - but I had brought crayons and a coloring book to keep her occupied.

As we sat, looking at one another, I got the distinct feeling that perhaps THEY thought that it was US who called for the meeting. No. This meeting was on the principal's recommendation and the Evil Twin and I went only to appease that recommendation and to let them know we were serious about correcting Buddy in the areas where he may be falling behind or not up to speed yet - that we love him, and want the best for him.

We are not pansy parents who just let the kids get away with anything. We can take Buddy to an upscale dinner and he will stay seated. Sissy is a little too young to be taught that, but we certainly don't let her down from her seat or highchair under any circumstances at a meal. We believe in a firm but loving home environment.

But, you enter hormones into the equation and etc. and all bets are off.

I won't go into all the details of the meeting, but suffice to say we left a bit more confused than we went in. I'm glad this is Buddy's last year at this school. I'm not sure how much more I could take!

I'm also afraid to say, that while doing a daily cleavage shot may seem like a good idea to most of you, I don't think it's going to happen. Mainly because after a while, you all would notice I own 4 shirts total. So, who's to know I didn't just take 30 shots in the same top? LOL.

I do think there might be an extra special something from the Evil Twin coming up, so don't get too dejected. He may be slow on painting a figurine's hair, but he's my hero in more ways than I can express on a daily basis.

Can I get a "SOUL"? Can I get a "MATE"? Thanks, kids! Love ya!

  4. The whole thing with Buddy sounds like a crock of bull to me, but then again...hey, at least they aren't just ignoring the unsqueaky wheel. Just stupid to pull ya'll in over it. Maybe they're seriously needing a forward on the ball team.

  5. Uh...ya know, guys don't care if your cleavage is 'presented' in the same top on a daily basis ;) A guy thing I guess :)

Hang in there w/ Buddy and the school...3 more months or so and its all done.

  8. Glad the meeting went okay. I think that admins sometimes call in a pre-emptive strike to keep parents from blowing up about a situation.

  9. Ahhh, love is in the air!

At least you stay involved in your kids education. That is more than a some parents do. They probably weren't prepared because didn't expect you guys to actually show up.

My MIL and SIL are both teachers. I hear stories. Of course, I can't stand either of them and that may be why I homeschool. Clearly, my opinion on this is worthless.

  10. Reggie - I found it strange that he was present too, because he has limited involvement with the school side of it.

Natalie - It is nice. :-)

Ron - I truly don't think you want that! :-D

fattie20xl - not today, my friend. Sorry!

    Momma - it's a nice feeling, huh?

TGG - yep, meeting the Evil Twin was certainly one of the best things that's happened to me.

honeywine - I'll be puzzled over this for days... LOL.

Efen - I'll see what I can do. And, hooray to only three more months!

The Girl - I hope you have a great Wednesday too - and may you find your soulmate someday too.

Alex - I get the sense they're trying to appease us for something, but I've had no issue with them at all... Curious.

    A. - As a stay at home mom, I'm able to be very involved. It's sad how many parents are not (at all - even to attending PTO meetings which take place in the evenings for working parents).

  11. Could it be that he would really spangle his hangle dangle for Interweb posterity?!

Swear to God, I'll buy the Swarovski crystals. Nothing but the best for the Evil Twin Fam.

PS: Can't wait for the kids packages to arrive!

  12. There truly is nothing like a soulmate! Glad you have yours.

Like I have said before, Buddy will be fine. On to a new school and hopefully, a staff that will understand him!

  13. Oh, and on the soul mate thing: Told ya that no other woman in this would could have, would have, or should have tried to tame him. You were the only woman for the job. And see how nicely that paid off?

I lurve love. Really. W/o my Curmy I don't know who I'd be. Yes, me but not me. Not the me I can be with him. He brings out my better me.

You do that for the Evil Twin.

  14. Being a Catholic myself, there have been PLENTY of priests growing up that literally scared the bejesus out of me (hem...Fr. Witty, God bless his soul).
Thankfully we have a wonderful, wonderful priest at our parish right now..Fr.Keith. He has done soo much for me and my family. Next week at church he is even goin to do an "annointing of the sick" on me before the big 'procedure'...man I adore him (can I say that without sounding like The Thornbirds and stuff?)

Anyway, my point being that as we considered putting Bear in Catholic school I realized I just don't think he would have all the advantages that the other kids would have. Our school is K-8 and boy they tried to get him in there but I worried once he hit HS...would he really know anyone besides the 20 kids that were in his class, I have that first hand from my SIL...anyway, as much as I would love to have him there because of our priest I couldn't justify my 'adoration' for our priest as a reason to have Bear suffer down the road. (Not that Buddy's school is bad...unless he has nuns teaching him...I've always heard stories from my Mom about them using rulers...does that really happen?) OMG I digress...so sorry.

Hope Buddy is well. Can't wait to see what Evil Twin has planned. It's always intresting around here that's four sure!

  16. Your poor little buddy! Do you ever get the feeling that the educators just dont *
get it* so they just throw around ideas til something sticks? Just my two cents.
That whole mess yesterday from the motard and his comments was just, well, sad. There truly are some needy bastards in this world...
And way to go Evil Twin for sticking up for you!! He's such a sweetie!

  17. Hope things get better for Buddy! Having good parents will help him through it all!

  18. BB - No, I think he's going to make a .gif image of my jiggling cleavage. Fun, huh? And thanks for the vote of confidence!

Chandra - No nuns, but it is a small school and I think he's moving on to Middle School with just one classmate. That might be difficult.

MsPulp - Buddy is in 5th grade and I still haven't figured out the school dynamic. That motard has had it out for me for a long time.

Tina - I think we're headed in the right direction. :-)

  19. BuzzardBilly doesn't even have to buy decorations for Evil Twin's Mr. Big... I have them right here, less than a mile away... :-)

Hormones... yep, they suck. But Buddy, like the rest of us, will survive them.
