Last weekend, the Evil Twin was off on Tuesday for election day (as a regular holiday) and he took Monday off as vacation. This week, Tuesday is again a regular holiday day - Veteran's Day, so he also just took today as a vacation day as well.
It works out nice for me because I'll have help at the grocery store - I hate dragging in all those groceries after buying them. For the record: we live at the top of a steep driveway and no matter how you work it, to get to the kitchen, stairs are involved. That's fine, but I can't really carry a lot of heavy stuff at once, so I have to make a gazillion trips. With the Evil Twin to help, we can get it all in about one trip.
Tomorrow, Buddy is off school, so we'll all be home.
That means I can "sleep in" until Sissy wakes up, so instead of getting up at 6:30, I might get an extra 45 minutes!
Have you ever had a morning where the potential to loaf was there, but jumping in the shower and getting your day started seemed more appealing? That's the kind of morning I'm having so far.
9 times out of 10, I would take the opportunity to be super lazy. Maybe I'll give lazy and loafing one more chance and see if it takes.
Otherwise, I'm just really feeling a need to wash my hair RIGHT NOW.
I have to work tomorrow.. Boo-hoo, but at least I don't have to drive the "asshole" an 1 hour of out my way for work. Enjoy the day with the family. I envy your upcoming laziness.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the long weekend, again.. must be nice. I say just keep trying until lazy kicks in, that's just how I roll :)
ReplyDeleteOh, don't you just love having the hubs home to help? It's fantastic! We have school here on Veteran's day but a half day on Friday for in-service...which I have dutifully filled up with a play date, boo-hoo... Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe Girl - Boo on having to work. My laziness only lasted about 5 minutes after I hit "post". LOL.
ReplyDeleteRon - I tried. I even fail at laziness.
MsPulp - That's strange the kids don't get the school day off. Veteran's Day is a Fed. holiday.
JEALOUS! I have parent conferences all day. Not really in the mood to hear how unfair and evil I am....
ReplyDeleteLoafing is good. If I don't turn the shower on the minute I get up I may lay in bed until noon.
ReplyDeleteThere's quite nothing like a good veg day! I think it's good for the soul! I'm all for it!
ReplyDeleteOh, I sooo enjoy a good day of "loafing/vegging" - whatever you want to call it. It's rainy here & it is the perfect day to do nothing...except my list of "to do" things is waaaaay long! :( Enjoy the extra help around the house...I live for those days! :)
ReplyDeleteLately, if I don't have to go to work, I stay in bed as long as I can (up to 8am). It's a real treat to do that.
ReplyDeleteLoafing....ahh. I never seem to have the time. Especially with the time-change. My kids are coming in to wake me up at 6:15 every morning. Time for some black-out shades methinks.....!
ReplyDeleteGeez....I'm a little jealous. Almost took the day off to do stuff (damn leaves...can't even tell I did them Saturday ;) BUT...sigh...that whole 'responsibility' thing, ya know...and yes, I have a problem :)
ReplyDeleteFunny, my husband has been taking off the last 2 weeks the same way! It's nice not getting up at 5:30 or 6:00 am, but 6:30 & 7:00 are still regulars. And like you, we have stairs to carry groceries up, so it's nice having that help around, lol!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is Veteran's Day? Why must I still teach school? College is teh sux no matter which side of the desk is yours. I am never teaching again. True story.
ReplyDeletePS: You're super lucky to get help with grocery lugging. Curmy never budges when I pull in with a load from the store.
