So, I'm playing around with my Flip camera and I took some video at the pool yesterday.
I wanted to upload it directly here, instead of a more "public" venue like YouTube, so I edited it and worked on an upload, only to realize that the file is much too large to upload directly to the blog.
But, I spent quite a bit of time on it last night before I checked into the file size, etc. Ever the dumb brunette - that's me!
It's all really very easy....But, I wanted to bypass the easy way and do it MY way.
Obviously, MY way isn't the optimal most of the time. Sometimes, I luck out and get it right.
So, I really don't have anything for you today.
It's raining here, so no pool for us. We rarely go on back-to-back days because I like to wash the towels every time - I like to use the same beach towels and not my regular bath towels....I know, I'm a little uptight, but I like things to be the same. Every.Time.
Anyhoodle, I'm also up to some sooper seekrit activities today, such as trying to figure out where I've put the insect repellent spray that I know is somewhere in this house.
I went outside yesterday evening and promptly got bitten by mosquitoes. They laugh and mock us for putting up little disks that are "supposed" to repel them.
Oh well, nothing better to do on a rainy day, I guess. ;-)
Usually playing around and getting things wrong the first time is the best way to learn how to do it right the next time.
ReplyDeleteI love my Flip. For such a small camcorder, the sound is pretty decent, as is the picture.
ReplyDeleteI have a couple videos of Cute Dog in the river that I wanted to upload to FB today but The Husband took it with him. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteHope you find the bug spray! My feet and ankles have gotten chewed the last few nights.
You must have gotten the rain we had yesterday!
The things I've learned through trial and error have stuck with me...the things I've looked up? Well, I'm still looking a lot of it up.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the rain! Hope you have a great day
work on that uploading bit! Have a nice lazy, rainy day! :)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of video taping myself telling a story and playing guitar but I'm still not good at it yet and I haven't found out how to cross my legs and play guitar while I'm wearing my kilt.
ReplyDeleteBest thing in the world for skeeters and other bugs: Outdoor fan. It can be a ceiling fan or you can get these stand-up outdoor fans that blow like they're made to cool hot lava. Skeeters don't fly into the wind. Not sure whether they tug on Superman's cape, pull the mask off the old Lone Range, or mess around with Jim.
ReplyDeleteSkeeters don't mess around with MY Jim, but they bite the hell out of me. I cannot go outside after 5pm without massive sprays of Deet. Maybe I'll take my fan outside next time.
ReplyDeleteSo far the Bug Guard is doing the trick. We'll see how it helps camping.
ReplyDeleteI keep my citronella burning when I am on the deck...works for me. I also found out the hard way that my video was too large to directly upload to blogger...oh well!
ReplyDeleteMaybe your bug-spray is in the fridge.
ReplyDeleteThat's where I found my phone this morning after 30 minutes of looking.
"Anyhoodle" Love it!
Awww, the Jersey mosquitos mock and laugh at me when I burn my candle that looks so nice on my deck table. Damn bugs.
ReplyDeleteBug spray should always be stored in the least likely place. That way you're always going to find it fast!
ReplyDeleteI recommend in your makeup abg. Or purse!
I mentioned the Flip to my mom, and she suggesting buying it for me as a late birthday present. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteYou can always nap on a rainy day. :D
I don't think that I've ever really gotten something right the first time. Especially on the computer, where I suck.
ReplyDeleteI was over in morgantown today and it rained all day long. When i got home nothing. But now there is a terrible storm. My garden needed it desperately as I am sure yours did too! Hope today is a "pool" kinda day! PS Thank you for your wonderful comment. Did it make you stronger with each one? I feel so weak.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing the quality of first clip you share. Wait? This isn't another one of those big fish stories, is it? *wink*
ReplyDeleteHey if you figured out how to edit and make a video smaller email me! I have a huge video from the safari park in Virginia that I can't send to anyone because it's waaay too large.
