It Runs in the Family

I am really not a shoe fetish type person... I kind of used to be and then I became a mom and figured that I could simplify my life by having only one or two pairs of shoes from which to choose.

Besides, it wasn't like I had an office job where I had to wear nice footwear.

Typically, my shoes are: Winter wear - Land's End Hand Sewn Mocs that I bought probably in 2004 (they don't make the hand sewn mocs anymore - or not that I've seen in a catalog). Summer wear - Sandals. Until this summer, I wore the same pair I'd had for years (again, probably 2004). Those sandals, which I still wear sometimes, were from Kmart and I found them on sale for $7. I still get compliments on them.

This summer, I found the really cute Naot sandals at Nordstroms and now I am in love with Naot.

These shoes are hand made in Israel and they are sooo comfy. If you look into this brand (they make styles for men, too!), you may be a little taken aback by the prices.

But, as you know - I will wear shoes for years...making them well worth the investment.

Sadly, I looked online today and found two pair I love. They are very similar and I'm having a tough time deciding.

There's the Naot Rimini:

Note the cute braid accent.
Then, we have the Naot  Paris:

Any thoughts? Please share them with me... I'm going online shopping again...

Have a great evening!

  1. Oooooh....I like them both too. But, if I HAD to choose, I'd probably go with the Rimini. Don't know why. Cute! (I feel sure Efen would agree.)

  2. Ummm... I like the Rimini myself, but I don't think I could pull off sandals. I just don't have the toes to pull it off :)

  3. I like the second pair best, but the top pair would go with more clothing. The Paris, having that stitched line on it, would clash with some things. I prefer black or metallic sandals, since they go with everything.

  4. Laura - we'll see...

Ron - you have a delicate foot. Check out the Naot Eiger. Really nice shoe for a man and it will draw the ladies in like stink on poo.

kenju - the Paris comes in black and the Rimini comes in metallic: http://www.naturalfootwear.com/naot-sandals/womens/Paris-BlackMadras.html

  5. I like the first pair you show here, they are cute. I have heel spurs, so I have to be careful about which shoes I buy & wear the most. Lately I wear my Saucony running shoes, with my orthotics in them...sassy! It's ironic that I wear running shoes, considering I do not run - ever! But, I do chase 2 kids under the age of 4 around, does that count as exercise? Hope you got the pair you wanted!

  6. I would personally opt for the 2nd pair.

That's only because I have wide feet (that SWELL! Woot!). My toes need a little more room.

I must check out this web page. I wear shoes until they fall apart, and my 'work shoes' are currently on the verge!

  7. I vote for the Paris.

If I felt like having a decent wardrobe, I'm sure I'd be another Imelda. I love shoes!

Right now, I want a pair of "FitFlops". My sister has a pair, and loves them. I may have to indulge.

  8. Check out "Onex" too. They make both dress and casual sandals. I have several pairs and they are sooooooooo comfortable.

  9. Gigi - these are very comfy and often recommended by foot doctors for problem feet.

Renn - I love my Naots, but read the reviews... some people think they run narrow (I have narrow feet, so it's not an issue for me).

Juanuchis - I ordered the Rimini and they should be here today, but if I don't like them, it's free shipping back and I can opt for the Paris.:-)

Laureneer - thanks for the suggestion. I'll check 'em out.

  10. My last response to you sent me in an online shopping frenzy at Wintersilks. Now you tempt me with Nordstroms and the promise of comfy footwear?

You are ruining me. Ruining me, I tell you. I cannot resist comfy in the footwear. I will sacrifice style for comfy. To have both, well, I'm not sure where this will lead me, you temptress.
