Lordy loo, I need to get the children out for back to school shopping. Buddy is as tall as I am now, and it doesn't take a genius to know that none of his jeans fit this coming year.
I think he also needs a new back pack (or pack pack as Sissy calls it) and I know FOR SURE he needs a new binder. The one from last year....It's just sad. Sis will need a new pack pack too. These little crotch rockets and all their assorted needs (that cost $$$). It's offset by the fact they will both be in school ALL day and out of my hair. Perhaps my house will be clean?
I went to visit a friend from high school yesterday. It was nice catching up with him - he was a grade behind me, so he knows much about that class year that I do not. It was fun. He's going thru a rough patch right now, so any good thoughts or prayers you can send his way are appreciated.
In the same vein, I went to Kroger yesterday evening and ran into a friend of mine. Both of her boys went to the same Catholic school that Buddy attended and now the youngest one is a grade behind Buddy at the local Middle School.
Anyhoot, she was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago and has had one mastectomy. She told me that today was her first chemo appointment. She has been a real friend over the years and has been very instrumental in Buddy's education - she ran the library program at their school (FOR FREE) and I can't thank her enough for encouraging children that reading is not only fun, it's magical. Again, if you could send some good thoughts her way, I would be so grateful.
Luckily, she lives less than half a mile from us, so I know I can be there anytime she needs me in a flash. The good news is when I saw her yesterday evening, she looked great! :-)
Un-Dear Cancer: you piss me off. Keep your filthy cancer cells to yourself, or send them to Hell. I think Satan could use them. Leave MY friends and family out of your nefarious plans. I would say "Thanks", but I'd really like to just beat you to death with a bat.
Love, ETW
And with that, I'm outta here. Have a happy Thursday hooligans. I love you all!
Love,
I'm loving your letter to that asshole cancer (sorry 'bout the cuss word).
ReplyDeleteI hate to burst your bubble but both my kids have been in school full time for 3 years now. My house STILL looks like a bomb went off in it.
When I read stuff like this, it chokes me up inside. Cancer is nasty evil shit...
ReplyDeleteI try very hard to look at the fact that she is still alive and is interacting and communicating...That is the WIN!
I am with you on this one...Cancer? Bite ME!
Amen.
