I am so happy we have the weekend looming ahead - and a 3 day weekend at that (the kids don't have school and the Evil Twin has a holiday day for work for President's Day), so I should be able to catch up on some household chores.
I have been so daggone tired lately. The weather is perking up, but it's not inspiring ME to perk up at all.
This was my last morning of driving my friend's son to his school. Then, I came back home and started reading my blogs (YOUR blogs - the ones I find most interesting!) and now, it's after 10A and I still haven't had a shower. I'm being super lazy today!
But, I do need to get to the grocery - big time. I wanted to go yesterday, but life got in the way and I never made it. Today, it is not negotiable. Sissy and I will brave the Kroger experience together.
The last time I went to the Mart, I needed cube steak and green peppers. The cube steak was grey looking and the green peppers all looked a bit shriveled and pock-marked. Really unappealing. Even the couple next to me, looking at cucumbers, were disgusted. Here's hoping the Kroger has better produce and meats. Usually, they don't, but stranger things have happened to me.
Happy Friday, hooligans - and if you have Monday off, I hope you enjoy your long weekend! :-)
Love,
I hate grocery shopping. I will put it off as long as I can. Terrible, I know, but I can think of a million other things I'd rather do. :P
ReplyDeleteI hate grocery shopping especially if I have to bring my kids with me. Honestly, if we could find some way to make terrorists take my kids grocery shopping as punishment they'd give up that line of work quick. Unfortunately I think that qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment under the rules of the Geneva Convention.
ReplyDeleteI actually go to two different stores. One for meat and produce and Walmart for everything else. Walmart's meat has just never been that appealing to me.
ReplyDeleteAre you making chili? My chili starts with cubed steak and peppers.
ReplyDeleteCrockpot, yo!
We do the same as Jay, we started going to Price Chopper(local grocery chain) for all food items and non food items to Walmart. The grocery store has a 'rewards' card, purhcasing their items with the card, I bet we save $30-$40 a week on groceries...PLUS it gives us money off a tank of gas at Quicktrip..we get .23 of a gallon up to 20 gallons of gas right now! Soooo worth it!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your long weekend! Maybe I'll find my mojo to actually write on my blog again...(sighs)
Dang it, how do your kids get Monday off? Kanawha Co is making ours go but making it a 2 hour delay day. I never cared much for Walmarts meats either.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find better groceries this time around. Hehe.
ReplyDeleteAlso I am super jealous of the three day weekend it seems like everyone EXCEPT me is getting. Bah.
