Book Meme

I was tagged for a meme from Honeywine and need to get around to that.

The dealio is:
Step One – pull out a book on the book shelf.
Step Two – go to page 123.
Step Three – read and write out the 5th sentence.
Step Four – tag 5 more people.

Just to show you how pathetic my life really is, I'm just going to grab a book close to me. This is a book I spend A LOT of time with. It's "2008 Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World". I am addicted to it. I am trying to memorize it before we trek to WDW NEXT June (I'm telling ya - I'm a sicko).

"As always, we advise calling 407-842-4321 to confirm schedules." (that refers to Entertainment in the Magic Kingdom).

Of course, I'll buy the 2009 version when that comes out too - and that will give me only 6 months to commit it to memory. There is, however, an online guide that can be downloaded to a PDA and used for parks' reference whilst you are actually AT WDW. I plan on buying that too. And, there's also "Pal Mickey" - an interactive stuffed Mickey that will pipe up and tell you when things will be happening and what times. He's another purchase.

Cause, dammit! My family is going to have FUN for the amount of cash I'm laying on this vacation.

  1. Remember a vacation is like a war. Be prepared and plan everything, but also be prepared to throw the plan out the window when things don't go as predicted. I started to plan one of those Disney vacations where you get to have breakfast with your favorite characters. I wanted breakfast with Cinderella and Snow White, but found out that they don't stay the night and have breakfast, they just show up in the morning... What a rip off.

  2. DW is a working vacation, as Mr. Wonderful and I like to call it. Our kids love it, but we usually need a vacation - just the two of us - afterwards!

Plan ahead, make dinner reservations, and wear good shoes! We love the restaurants at Epcot, don't like the California Grill in the Contemporary Hotel at DW, but really, really like the bar at the Animal Kingdom Lodge!

  3. Ron - LOL.

T - thanks for the advice. I think we're going to do the Dining Plan, so I'm trying hard to narrow down choices, so I can do reservations.

  4. I love this meme. I did it too, and I can't remember my sentence, but it ended with "steeped happily in disaster." How perfect is that?

  5. We spent Thanksgiving at Disney 2 years ago. With a grandma in Florida and DH's conferences, we've been a fair number of times. A tiring vacation, that's for sure. We love character dining and I like eating in the castle. :-)

And wine in Italy, pastries in Norway and Fance, beer in Germany, a pint at the British pub..... I REALLY like Epcot. :-D

  6. France, dammit, FRance. I swear my last glass of wine was about 4 or 5 hours ago.

  7. Nina - thanks for stopping by. And yes, that line is perfect!

K - I need all the help I can get. We'll get to spend 2 days at one park (whatever we liked best). I figure it'll be either MK or Epcot.

  8. ETW - even if you don't have AOl, there are some good AOL message boards that are really helpful for trip planning. Let me know if you want the links.
