Dr. Syn, a much loved blogger friend, passed away on Sunday evening. It's a terrible loss for our little community here, his greater community at large and for his family and friends.
I can't say much more than what's already been said by the greatly talented writers over there on my blogroll (someday I'll figure out how to link them).
I hoped and I prayed for the best, but I was also really worried about him as each post from his wife brought scarier news than before. Thank God she kept us updated, though. I'm sure it was tough for her to find the words in her own time of worry.
I know Dr. Syn wasn't a religious guy, but I'll continue to pray for him and his family. Vaya con Dios, amigo.
It really is amazing...I didn't even know him..just read his stuff sometimes and I feel very sad today over the loss of him. His poor family...
ReplyDeleteHe was so smart, and so funny. I used to enjoy reading his posts, but also reading his comments to me. For some reason, I never found out about the newer blog, so he had fallen off my radar since last fall. I am shocked, to say the least, and I know we all are.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your friend. I didn't get a chance to check out his blog :( It's sad to lose those we get to know in cyberspace all the same however.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's the utter randomness of it all that gets to me. He walked into a door, for gourd's sake. Do you understand how often I walk into things, trip, hurt myself, and think, "Well, that was stupid" ?? Millions.
ReplyDeleteIt still makes me tear up, and I don't do that for everyone.
ReplyDeleteHe is missed, that much is for sure.
